do you wear a "stunt double" of your e-ring while traveling?

I completely agree.

I also apply the same rule of thought to my best china, crystal etc. Am I not as worthy as my guests? And besides......what am I saving it for? The coffin?

Wear & enjoy! Life unfortunately, is much too short.

Yes! I do agree. I do also like the idea of flipping towards the inside of my
Palm if I feel insecure also. And definitely True that if someone is gonna target me to rob they would do that whether I'm wearing my real or cz! What great points you all have  I'm truly grateful fo r all your replies!!!

Depends where you're travelling? I recently went to Jamaica and left my e-ring at home, partially b/c it's not the safest country in the world and partially because I thought I might be snorkelling/surfing/hiking and wouldn't necessarily take it on those outings, but didn't want to worry about it being stolen in my crappy room safe. If I was going to Europe I'd wear it for sure... Australia, NZ, etc. Depends how safe and how active you'll be!

Forget people! It's the Barracudas who'd have grabbed your ring while snorkelling! ;)

You think Europe is safer than Jamaica? I've been mugged in Paris on gunpoint, it was the scariest incident I ever had and I've traveled a lot.

God bless you, I'll bet it was. Do you travel with jewelry now?

I have a friend that was in Rio & the woman she was with had on a Cartier. They got in a cab & he took them somewhere & got stopped by some gunmen. It was all a set up with the cab driver. The gunmen knew she had a cartier watch & that's what he requested even though the dumb broad who had the watch on said she didn't have one. He put a gun to her head & she turned it over. My friend no longer talks to this idiot who thought their lives were worth less than her keeping the watch.

I was the victim of an attempted robbery in another South American country. (I was my traveling companions fault. Really stupid.) So cops were watching this duo at the airport before they came to us. Lucky for us.

My life is worth much more than me needing to travel with jewelry. I hear, well its insured. I don't want to go through another robbery attempt.
Once in a life time is enough for me.

When I was in Switzerland 2 years ago a guy tried to pickpocket me. I had no jewelry at all. Only my wedding band.

He was walking beside me & waving a dirty scarf in front of my face, speaking in French, trying to
distract me. (thought he wanted my Hermes shawl I had under my coat.) He kept running his hand along my arm, trying to find a bracelet, watch, whatever. The hotel manager told us what he was doing when we reported it. DH gave him a huge shove to get away from me & the guy went flying out of control, tripped & fell.

I'm just back from Sydney and Italy trips, the first 2 trips after marriage. I wore only plain platinum band and so did my husband. I even put my engagement ring in the bank's safe, not home.

In Rome, while my husband was enjoying his night alone, he was drunk (more like sedated) and the thief took all of his belongings (including his Corum watch from his wrist.) However, he was kind enough to leave 300 US$ (took only 200$ and all euro, a passport and a wedding band.
