do you wear a "stunt double" of your e-ring while traveling?

Just curious, do you wear their real jewelry, including your e ring while you travel abroad? Or a fake one?

I'm going to be newly engaged and I'm still not quite over the fact that the ring I will be wearing will be the most expensive thing I own and am not sure how comfortable I am wearing it out of country. I mean, in the united states, where it's customary to sear an e ring along with the wedding ring, it would be natural to see someone with some bling on their finger(also, I'm in LA). But. In many asian countries it's not too customary to do so. It might be too flashy? I'm also concerned about the safety issues and the possibility of losing it or getting robbed... I mean i know we'll have insurance but still....

But I also don't want to keep my beautiful ring locked in a safe somewhere either...:confused1:

I will wear mine probably.

Besides, my ring finger is too small for a cheapy fake. I would need to buy a real gold or platinum ring with CZs in order to size it down to a 3.25.

I think in general, I don't dress very flashy. I definitely do not carry a logo handbag when we're someplace unfamiliar and I usually wear black skinnies and a black or grey top. From a block away, I don't look like I have on anything designer and I like that.

nope. i would rather just leave my good stuff at home if i felt like i was going to lose it or it would be unsafe. why have the real thing if you're not going to wear it?

when i was in england for two weeks, i just left my e-ring at home and only wore my wedding bands. it was easier to keep track of and since i was there for business, i thought it would be more appropriate to not have a lot of flash.

I don't wear any diamond jewelry only my LOVE ring + plain platinum wedding band.

If robbers are going to target you, they'll do so even when they see you wear CZ ring, because from afar, they can't tell if it's fake or not! Best not to have anything sparkly on you period! :)

I don't use copies of my real stuff.
If I'm touring, say Rome or Barcelona, I may leave my bigger, more noticeable pieces in the hotel safe, but yes, I travel w/ it.

I do have a fake set, but it looks nothing like my regular set. I wore it on my hmoon for a few reasons, one of which was that my wedding band fell apart before the end of the wedding day due to horrible workmanship, so I just wore fakes so I could let that get remade one of 6 more times, and not worry about losing the real things.

I haven't worn it on any trips since, just when I go to the super-swanky mall.

No, I just wear less jewelry. I always wear my studs, my wedding band, and a pendant. I think those are enough for traveling, not too provocative or casual either.

I wear my cz on the beach, but i don't consider the beach traveling because I'm like 15-20 min away lol.

Ame, you've had quite the ordeal!

No fakes for me. When I travel I wear my e-ring and wedding band. If we are some where were I feel iffy, I will turn my diamond around. If we are going to be doing something were it could get damaged or going somewhere when I know in advance it might be iffy, I will leave my e-ring in the hotel safe and just wear my wedding ring (it is a plain gold band that used to be my grandmother's, so to me it is worth more than my e-ring, but unfortunately you cannot insure sentimentality or replace it!) Make sure your stuff is insured and wear it and enjoy it!
