Do you value your pre-loved bags as much as your purchased-new ones?

This exactly!It’s more about wanting the bag to be mine from the start. I know wear will happen, but most of the time, I want the wear to be mine, not someone else’s. And a new bag feels like a treat!
I'm like this with my lambskin Balenciaga Velo that I got pre-loved. To think it's lambskin and supposed to be delicate, well, I'm not OCD about this bag. I decided to keep the bag. I’m not interested in the colors available now in the goat skin. I love everything in gray.
What ultimately helped me decide to keep it is that it’s supposed to be my everyday, casual, workhorse beater bag. So I guess it’s okay that it doesn’t really feel like designer. I don’t have to be afraid about really using it and throwing it around. I can set it in the cart at Costco and not think twice about it. I took it out last night and it has already grown on me. I think I will love it soon enough. I love all of my dependable, always-there-for-me bags because of how useful they are to me, not because of how much they cost. I don’t know if I will buy pre-loved again, but I’m okay with this one. Thanks all
I love my pre-loved bags. As much as my brand new one. I don’t really see any difference.
But everyone is different, there is nothing wrong if you don’t love it as much. Get something makes u happy
I prefer preloved. It depends on the style of the bag, how much of a treasure it is.
I shop maybe 90% vintage/pre-loved and 10% new and probably prefer my pre-loved because I just like money, and pre-loved = more cash in my savings. I can live with some scratches on the bag and no pretty little box if it saves me $1K or even $100. I also like that pre-loved bags have a story behind them...I imagine someone famous probably owned one of my bags, or maybe someone filthy rich, or maybe it was a gift from a loved one... who knows. I always look pre-loved - I don't even see a reason to buy new anymore, with so many bags saturating the marketplace anyway.
Absolutely with you 100%! I value my money way too much to be spending it friviously. I love my preloved bags as much as my new ones. Most of the bags/ styles I tend to gravitate towards are older styles no longer in stores anyways. Plus, I love the thrill of the hunt for *that* bag, the history that could be behind it is just the cherry on top.
I don't want to have to baby my bags, I want to be able to enjoy and use them without worrying myself to death every time I take them out- both of my pre-loved bags are two of my favourites because I know I have no worries about "ruining" them. That being said, I really only buy pre-loved bags that are pebbled leather that stands up to wear and tear. Plus, I like to imagine they lived an exciting life before me haha
When I get new ones I tend to baby it and ended up waiting a couple of weeks to break into it. For preloved it's much more simple. Use it, stuff it up, carry it anytime anywhere. But have to make sure that I really really really want that bag & accept the bag's condition.

I spend a lot of time bargain hunting my new purchases just like I do with my second-hand bags, and I've noticed that for me, the luckier the find, the more special the bag feels to me. So, I value some of my used purchases even more than my new ones.
I mostly prefer my preloved bags to newly purchased ones - because I feel like I cheated the system, LOL. in most cases I get a good deal, so I love that
I love my preloved bags. I can't remember the last time i bought a new bag. I love bags from 2007,2008,2009-the quality was so much better then, incredible leather, great details, and they still look and feel great. I'll take a 10 year old Botkier over the newer bags i see any day.

I value my preloved & new equally. Sometimes the leather is not produced anymore or not currently available. I also think for some bags I’ve purchased from certain lines, the quality is better on the older bags. I do love new bags as well since I am the only owner which makes the bag more special to me.
