Going on a beach vaca, and I can’t decide if I should bring my VCA. I’m afraid it might get lost or stolen.

I’m thinking I could wear my YG 10 motif Alhambra necklace, and matching YG 5 motif bracelet. The YG is so low maintenance that I can sleep and shower and swim in them. But will they get damaged as I re-apply sunscreen all day? And swim in the pool and ocean?!

What do you guys do for travel?

I honestly would not. Aside from saltwater being different than shower water, the sand might get stuck in the crevices and be hard to get off.
Of course the sunscreen won't be good for it either.
And waves can sometimes be strong and you don't want it to pull on your jewelry.
Enjoy your vacation!
I didn’t even think about the sand— excellent point!! Thank you so much!!

I would wear them. I wear my 5 motif hammered YG all the time. I live in the tropic and I wear to swimming pool and beach too. I don't think 10 motif necklace would make any difference. I would enjoy them when I can.

This is just for me personally obviously and I understand others would disagree... I travel with various pieces on beach vacations, and I'll wear pieces to the pool at whatever resort we're at, but I would not wear anything at the actual beach, nor in the ocean. In the event we want to spend time at the beach, I keep everything in our hotel room safe.

I just went on a beach vacation and brought only pave, onyx and chalcedony pieces, I left MOP/malachite etc at home since they are more delicate. I do not like to swim, but I ran on the beach every day and kept the pieces on all day other than the earrings, including for exercise and showering. You should be fine to bring a few pieces that are all metal or metal/pave.

Depends what kind of beach vacation. I live by the beach part of the year and wear hammered pieces to the beach including into the water all the time. On a beach vacation in most cases I would be going out also and would definitely bring some things to wear after the beach. But I have also been on the kind of beach (actually boat) vacation where you are not going out at all and just with the same group relaxing. In that case I would probably wear a more casual favorite few pieces like hammered and not worry too much. I even wear frivole pieces and they are fine after cleaning. This is for living by the beach in the summer and going in the water with it every day/

For going to an urban beach where you go out or do other things I bring a collection of things. Connecting to the other discussion, I also use a wolf case but don’t bring cases. I use travel cases at home but wolf cases with pieces visible is easiest way for me to be sure I didn’t forget something

I live in sub tropics. Much of my life is beach and pool and I do wear VCA into the pool/ocean. I was on a beach vacay/work trip a couple weeks back and I wore my 10 motif yg hammered and sweet pave yg earrings the entire week. Never took off. I also had diamond bracelets, love bracelets and diamond rings on the entire time. When I go on vacation I only bring what I will wear entire time.
I would not bring your jewellery to the beach or pool if you would be nervous about it falling off. I never wear my engagement ring at the beach as it makes me nervous it could slip off with finger shrinkage. I leave it behind when I go on beach vacations.

After our residence is located on the Mediterranean Sea, DH and I spend a lot of time on the water. Be it on our yacht or in some beach club or restaurant on the beach. We meet friends, have parties on our boats or enjoy the sunset somewhere outside on the sea.
All my friends also wear their jewelry on these occasions and so do I.
I also go for a swim with it but then only wear pieces that have a tight fit. I just love the combination of beach fashion and jewelry and am also willing to bear the consequences for it. Which would be: I have already lost two rings and a bracelet and of course all the pieces need a bit more care than usual.

This is a timely question because I just came back from a beach vacation! I wore my Frivole 3 flower pendant and earring set with a simple, non-VCA link bracelet and used that combination for most of the time on my trip.

I don't wear any jewelry at the actual beach or pool (it stays in the hotel safe), but I found that this set worked well for dinners out, travel, etc.

Side note on VCA and travel: I tend to find that less people recognize the non-pave Frivole pieces as VCA than my Alhambra pieces. I get a lot of compliments, but not everyone "knows" if they are not familiar with the brand, so it feels a bit more under-the-radar for travel.
