I feel like most of us on here have a preferred bag type ie: hobo, hand held, tote, etc. Myself, I love crossbody bags! I live in a busy city and often need my hands free, so it is the most convenient for me at the point in my life. But then I get to wondering, will I get tired of crossbody later, or feel like it's a dated bag type?

I like to save up for the best bag I can afford and then keep it for years. In an effort to avoid future regret I've been trying to find styles that are versatile. I bought a Chanel bag that can be worn crossbody or shortened as a shoulder bag. I also like "wallet on chain" styles that can transform to a clutch/wallet. And I have my eye on a Mulberry which can go from crossbody to handheld.

What about you guys, do you wonder about getting tired of your favorite bag type? :girlsigh:

I think it's just the opposite for me. I was always a cross body gal before I got "into" bags. I have bought shoulder bags & handhelds. And although I love the looks of the bags I've bought, I'm only truly comfortable carrying a bag cross body.

No matter what kind of bag I buy I always end up carrying it handheld. Most of my bags are meant to be carried like that, but even for hobos and crossbodies I carry them like that.

As a teen, I favored suede shoulder bags. As an adult, went into totes. Recently, moved to satchels/boston-style bags. I do have a RM MAC which is nice for little things, but practically speaking, it doesn't hold all my stuff. I'm probably sticking with satchels or totes.

I used to like smaller bags but now that I carry a phone, e-reader, big sunglasses, etc. I had to go to larger bags. I always bought shoulder bags until a few years ago and switched to handheld (shoulder bags gave me shoulder/back pain) and I expect I'll stick with handheld for a long while.

I've been a hobo wearer now for approximately 35 years! While I love the look of Tod's handheld bags, I am most comfortable wearing a zippered hobo slung back on my shoulder. So I guess, "Nope." Not tired yet! :p

I've always loved the Hobo style for many years now. Lately the style I wear most is cross body bags because I like my hands free. I have two brand new LV speedy that i bought about six years ago that I've probably only worn two to three times because they keep my hands occupied so I stored them away. So my preference right now is largely what feels most comfortable when walking around the city.

I used to love tote bags alot when I was still a student because I have so many things to carry. And when I start to grow to an adult, the number of things I carry out seem to decrease.

Now I like bringing my crossbody celine trio out. And for handheld, I like my celine phantom. But I am quite tired of it because its pretty sore on my arms and it pose sucha challenge when i need to wash both my hands in the sink and at the same time ensure my bag doesnt get wet.

I still think I want a trusty shoulder bag, so hermes lindy is next on my list.

I haven't found a favorite style yet, just a favorite feature: double handles! I don't care if its a satchel, tote, or hobo as long as it has two handles that make opening and getting into the bag easy, I'm good.

For me it's a different kind of bag for different needs. When I was a teen I liked hobos, then I used to think totes are all I would ever want but actually my most enduring love has been for really unusual bags.

My favourite shape of all, like the Gucci Bamboo Top-Handle, is a rounded structured bag but I do understand the limitations of such a bag when it comes to rectangular laptops or A4 files. What can you do when you're in love? :shrugs: :D

So far I've stuck to my "type," (large, slouchy, hobo's). Of course I have a few bags that could be considered other types (totes, cross body etc) but also are large, slouchy and have a hobo feel to them. Given that I strongly dislike structured bags or carrying bags on my arm, I doubt I'd ever get tired of my favorite type of bag, but then again, you never know....:shrugs:
