Remember the necklace Sarah Jessica Parker wore in Sex in the City with her name Carrie on it in gold... is that look completely out of style? It was popular for a while but I think only certain people can still pull it off. What do you think?

If I had one I would wear it. It depends what your style is though, if you wear a variety of stuff and don't mind being a little flashy it will look great, but it you're really conservative and only wear small jewelry it may not look right.

I have one that my sister got me but it's a bit more delicate and understated....i actually wear it with one of my Tiffany diamond pendants like the bow pendant and they are a really funky combination (my name necklace is in yellow gold) but I am 26 and it suits my style of dress. That's my input :smile1:

I have one, while I dont wear it often, I love it and do wear it from time to time. Mine is in yellow gold and i am contemplating rhodium dipping it and I think I might wear it more. I just dont wear alot of yellow gold anymore?

This is gonna sound totally stupid, but you can do that to any yellow gold piece??? I have tons of YG that I don't wear anymore since I only wear WG and silver and if I could do this, that would be fantastic!!!!

Not stupid at all! Yes you can but its not reversable. Once you do it you have to keep it white gold. Also if its a piece you wear constantly you might have to have it redipped as it does wear off in time. I have recently dont two diamond rings that I never wore because they were yellow gold. I wear them more often now. Try a piece and see how it goes. Its relatively cheap too. $35-75.

I think that necklace is a style/statement/personality thing -- meaning if you pull it off great -- go for it.

My girlfriend has one and she has been wanting one forever. She is very calculating about what she wears and can totally pull it off. But this is a girl addicted to fashion who doesnt want an engagement ring when he pops the Q, rather 5 pairs of christian louboutins instead.
I think its the attitude that you bring a necklace like that. At first I thought corny, but now I think she wears it well.

I think they're out... I have a Jennifer one and never wear it... BUT I haven't thrown it out either! You never know. Depends if you care if it's "in" or not. I think the beauty of the Carrie character was that she didn't care - she set her own trends. SO if you're like her, rock the "ghetto gold" girl!

I have one that my mom had made for me before I was a baby. It's 18k gold, and it's in Arabic because I was born in the Middle East.

I absolutely love it, but don't wear it for a variety of reasons, mainly because I don't like yellow gold.

If you like it, go for it!
