Kate Spade Do you think kate spades death will affect sales of her bags and apparels..?

They said resale sites have had a ton of interest in her original bags that were nylon and not leather.

I love my Kate Spade bags but don’t see myself buying anything else. Maybe if her name was not on the exterior (I feel bad saying that). I am sad about her death and looking at the bags, seeing her name is a reminder

Its so sad that her brand nemesake is all about vibrant colors when her life is rather gloomy. A bit similar to robin williams whose career is all about laughter wherein he actually feels the opposite. I hope ks sales wont get affected by her death. I thought it was likely since they might associate this brand with a tragedy. On the other hand, people might buy more to remember her by. I found myself looking at my ks bag and remember her.

I'm in agreement with two others - I don't think I will buy anything from this brand again. It gives me sad/negative vibes too much. I actually may sell some pieces in my collection as a result of this feeling.
I think her original pieces, the ones she designed herself, will go up in value and remain of value.

It's really sad, but I agree with the others who probably won't buy Kate Spade again. I know she had nothing to do with the brand for over 10 years, but it's still her name and now unfortunately her suicide is what I think of when I hear the name. It will be interesting to see what happens, see if the brand ends up fading away or if sales remain decent.

Though some might be interested in this...I can certainly understand those who feel sentimental and wish to purchase a KS bag after her death. I won't stop visiting her outlet store (or sales at her boutiques), but it will definitely be visited w/sadness.

I feel a bit nostalgic for my first Kate Spade bag. I bought it in 99. Wish I hadn’t sold it. A small part of me wants another. It’s almost 20 years now. A part of me wants a vintage one. I’m guessing there is a lot of people who feel the same. But I can’t imagine the brand is going to skyrocket. The market is just too saturated with her stuff.

Well, I didn't think I would buy anything from this brand again but it looks like I was mistaken. I ordered this earlier today: Shore thing crab coin purse. I really wanted the cross body but it seems to be sold out but the coin purse is cute enough.

before Kate's death I had found a wallet that I liked and was debating on, when I decided to get it of course the last one was gone so thought I would check ebay found one same style different color and bought it. I was keeping an eye out for the color I wanted and after her death the $88.00 wallet is on ebay with people trying to sell for 140.00. I think that is sad and honestly I hope they don't sell.
