Do you prefer wearing just a Rolex/Patek or fine jewelry or both

For some time I have preferred wearing bangles over watches, but lately I have been getting bored with my bangles. I contribute some of it to the over saturation on social media of loud arm stacks - love + juc + clover + serpenti + multiple vintage bracelets. But it’s also partly me wanting to be more minimalist with what I am wearing. I have been gravitating toward only wearing a watch on my wrist. Do you prefer bangles over watches or vv or both? Anyone here turn away from fine jewelry and become a watch collector such as Patek, Rolex or Ap etc?

Watches for sure. I’ve spent an order of magnitude more on watches than I have on bracelets. I’m trying to figure out whether I like to add bracelets now that I’m wearing a slimmer, non-blingy watch 90% of the time (Cartier Tank on a strap). But comfort-wise I really enjoy wearing just a watch. If I wear a bracelet on my other wrist, it’s usually something dainty with no gems or a jade bangle.

I always wear a watch (either Cartier Panthere or Tag Aquaracer) on my left wrist and sometimes one bracelet on my right wrist or at the most three if I’m stacking. I haven’t been wearing bracelets much more recently but I think that’s because mine are all quite noticeably branded/expensive and I feel self-conscious with the terrible financial climate here (UK) and the difficulties so many are experiencing. Earrings get lost in my long hair and although I have some nice necklaces I don’t think any of them are too flashy.

If I had to choose between watches and bangles/bracelets then bangles would always win.

Oh, I’m facing this dilemma now too but not because of over-saturation on social media but because the economic climate is also deteriorating in my home country. As a result, I’m cutting down on my stacking. So for the past couple of days, instead of wearing 4 bracelets (including a VCA Alhambra daily)/bangle/JLC Reverso or VCA watch per arm, for my left arm, I have stacked just a watch with a gold bangle or just a bangle and VCA bracelet with no watch. For my right arm, I’ve done 1 cord bracelet, diamond tennis bracelet and a gold bracelet.

I’ve always worn my watches alone because I fear bracelets would scratch them. (I don’t really like the look of watch plus bracelets anyway.) On the other arm I sometimes wear two bracelets, rarely three. Never been a fan of these mega-bracelet stacks of every mismatched piece someone owns. And this was true even before crime went up and the economy went down.

I love watches and I think it can be a really strong sophisticated look when a woman wears a great watch on its own without other wrist distractions.

I feel the same about the economy and wanting to be careful and safe.

I think this is also what I was getting at with mismatched stacks. I’m not ocd but when I see stacks like that it’s like nails on chalkboard

I wear both. Always a watch on the left. Sometimes bangles on the right, but never stacked with the watch because of the potential for damage.

I did just stack an Alhambra with my Submariner, though. Only did it because I’m right handed and was having trouble doing the catch with my left hand and got frustrated. So I put it on my left arm instead of my right and wore it with my watch. It looked amazing and I may do it again! (But would still keep bangles separate.)

Since DH started wearing ALange & Sohne Zeitwork or Odysseus, I sometimes wear his JLC reverso or IWC Portugueser hand me downs lol. When I do wear them, I don’t bother with any other jewelry. Even if I did wear something on the other wrist, I prefer not to wear a bracelet next to a watch
i agree with @Cosmopolitan re wearing them alone

One or the other, not both. Sometime nothing at all.

1. One looks better on my arms
2. I don't want to damage my watches or scratch my bracelets.
3. I only wear a watch is I need to tell the time without getting my phone out (like at meetings) or if I'm really in the mood.
4. I only wear anything around m wrist/s sometimes.
