I like delicate details but I do not like when settings sit super high or the setting is bulky and tall, I like the center stone to be the main focus.

its no surprise but I agree with Candice

If its a smaller stone I prefer a delicate halo that enhances the center stone. I've seen way too many halos gone wrong because it wasn't the right scale and competed with the stone..with both stones losing lol. if its a bigger stone I prefer it on its own or something classic like oval with two small half moons with a small halo or a cushion cut with halo or an emerald or pear cut with a simple band a la harry winston.

Whenever I get Engaged I think i'm going to do a simple setting

I love simple settings and I love settings that are more elaborate....I always see rings on others that look so beautiful, and they are always different...I never thought I would ever do a halo, but I reset mine and I love it...so Im not sure if there is one right answer, as there are so many beautiful rings to choose from......but also keep in mind that you can ALWAYS change a setting if you decide to...I love the way you paired your Ering with a delicate wedding band...
