Do you LOVE LOVE your jumbo?

Hi Ladies,
I purchased my first Chanel ever this week. She is a Jumbo Caviar with Gold. I am about 5'5 145 lbs with a wider frame. My friend came with me to purchase it and said it looked too big, but she is petite and can rock the medium while I feel it makes me look like shrek. I had to go with my heart and got the jumbo because it was so beautiful to me. I am quite young so this is definitely the only Chanel I'll be able to afford for a very long time and want to be sure I made the right decision. Can those of you who love your jumbo share why it is your holy grail and favorite bag?

Because it's gorgeous and is actually functional. Unlike M/L & mini's which I also love, I can carry my day to day stuff without downsizing anything. Also every bag doesn't have to look "cute" & "tiny".
My dear, I'm pretty sure you don't look like Shrek with a medium! lol. I'm 5 feet tall, 112 lbs and I own 7 Jumbos and 1 medium seasonal flap. I prefer my Jumbos 9 out of 10 times because it's just more functional than a medium. I can't definitely put more stuff in there and aesthetically, I find them better looking than a medium. The single flap is my favorite (it's lighter) but my double flaps also get some love for being more structured.
My first Chanel bag (my Holy Grail) is my Beige Clair Jumbo w/ GHW in Caviar leather. I remember shaking with excitement when I was opening the box and seeing it for the first time! It was a culmination of all my hard work, blood, sweat and tears materialized into this one bag. I will never forget that feeling. =)
I love my jumbo because it is practical for my lifestyle & can go from day to night. I’m a big fan of wearing it crossbody or doubled up on my shoulder. Maybe it’s because I’m used to larger totes, but I’ve never felt like the jumbo is too heavy.
I feel like so many people have been rough on the jumbos lately, but I adore mine & use it constantly! I’ve never been a tiny bag person & I hate having to change wallet/SLG to fit in a small bag.

As I said in another thread, I LOVE my jumbo caviar! It looks fantastic after wearing almost nonstop for almost 2 years, and it holds a ton. Agree that it looks good day to evening (basically everything except formal occasions). It doesn't fall off my shoulders and I can also wear it cross-body. I love that it has a pocket on the back that accommodates my iphone for easy access. I have a lot of very nice and more rare/expensive bags (mostly Hermes) but I find my jumbo caviar to be my absolute favorite.
Let me start with saying congrats on your first Chanel. I love my Jumbo because it made my hearts skip a beat before I purchased her, and it still makes my heart skip a beat every time I use her. It is an accessory piece for me that I plan on keeping forever. If I was 2 feet tall and could drag it around I would still have purchased her because it's what I want. As long as you are happy that is all that matter

I have read so many posts about certain size bags on certain frames and honestly I just do not understand why. I use my WOC one day when the occasion calls for it and my Jumbo the next and both look great. The size of the bag IMO is the need you have for the day. The Jumbo allows for me to take the most important of what I normally carry when I use my backpack. The Jumbo is perfection, beautiful and useful. I have heard some say it is too heavy but never has been an issue for me.

Jumbo is my first ever love. I was deciding on a chanel boy before heading to Paris. While I was in Paris, I went to the boutique in Avenue Montaigne and it was packed almost closing time. So I left aft awhile and head to LV. The next day I went to rue cambon, I waited an hour for a sa still none av. I left & never want to return coz I felt I’m paying such hefty price for not only the brand, I need e whole package including customer service as well. My dear finance husband for e first time was so supportive of me in getting “material” stuff! 
He asked me to give another try, so we went back, he went in and told them we waited long enough and asked if they goin to serve us soon. Then came a good sa, so I asked for a chanel boy, a m/l and a jumbo all in black, caviar, ghw. There were only a boy in caviar ghw, a m/l caviar shw and a jumbo lambskin ghw she said. She brought out the first two but I was undecided. Then she brought out the lambskin jumbo. Omg! I’m in love!!!! I didn’t think twice! I want it right away! It is so luxury, soft to touch, and it gives me the precious feeling that I’m gonna keep it till I’m old, it will be an inheritance( some sort). Most importantly, it fits all my needs in terms of size, the outlook of it, it’s like a proper first chanel classic bag and it’s gorgeous!
It is about 4 years now and I’m still in love with it! It is the only chanel bag that makes me fluttered though I have quite a few later on but nothing compare to the jumbo I love even though it is in lambskin! So go with your heart and don’t let anyone decide for you! You will know that it is your perfect holy grail if your heart yearns for it!

Because I can dress them both down and they fit my entire life inside!!! I see all these videos where women have to “Tetris” their stuff inside their purse to make it all fit. I just toss my stuff inside my jumbos and go! I’m also 6’0”, so I’m no help there!
I love my caviar jumbo with ghw. It’s a bag that always I use mostly in the fall and winter, but these are looong in Northern Europe 
It looks good with all my coats and all wrapped up. I am petite, but in winter out wear I find my smaller bags looking out of proportion sometimes, it also fits a little bit extra, that’s perfect for a small umbrella or something like that,
I think a lot of bags and sizes have their time in life. Sometimes you need bigger ones, sometimes smaller. Ten years before I had all my stuff in my car and never felt the need of a bag which can hold a little bit. So, trust yourself! If the m/l feels weird, don’t take it, I want to purchase one too, but I bought two other bags (boys) instead because it just wasn’t right for me.

Loved your story and how your sweetie supports your love for handbags. Jumbo size is the best especially since it can be worn crossbody. I have black caviar with SHW. Recently I bought a medium/large but I just don’t love it. So tomorrow I’m hoping to exchange it for the jumbo with GHW. Your story inspired me to stick with what works best for me. TIA.
