Do you have pricing fatigue?

The price increases have been astronomical even in the vintage Chanel world (which is mostly my experience), but I know what you mean when you feel so guilty about how much a bag costs. I think if you love the bag you should allow yourself to enjoy it. Unfortunately if you sell it, you may not make all your money back, depending on the bag and if you consign it too. I think the best way is to wear it as much as possible so you get the most cost per wear! HTH ❤️
I understand the guilt, if you can afford it and you love it, I would hold on, prices will only rise. But for future purchases I personally will try and be more mindful.
Thank you both for your responses  I will try and get as much use out of it as possible and make happy memories with it. Hopefully as time goes by, the guilt will ease. I will definitely try and be more mindful in the future. 🙏

Every time I get into discussions about this topic, I think about the movie Friday. I refuse to pay these prices anymore. "I had to warn you too many times about my money, Smokey (or Chanel, in this case). You see, it's the principle of the whole thing. There's principalities in this." IYKYK

...but I still buy Hermes woops!

I am no longer interested in obtaining Chanel or any bags. I think it is more due to the fact that I love my Chanel 22 so much that when I use them I no longer feel like I even want to look for other bags. I love using my 22 so much. But I agree that the proses have gone so much. I love classic flap and remember buying them for 4K. I would feel like a total idiot spending 10K on a bag I spent 4-5K on.

I still shop (pokes at my username) but I understand why others do not. What is annoying to me is this stuff is not really worth the ticketed price because brand new bags are selling for such great prices on the resale market. For the first time ever I am considering buying a used Chanel bag because it just doesn't make sense to spend the extra markup in store to me.

I recently started shopping at Chanel after the crazy hikes began post COVID, so the prices have always been hard to accept. It must be much more of an annoyance for anyone who shopped prior. I feel so guilty sometimes because after all, these are just bags and not the smartest way to spend my hard earned money. I am the only one in my family enjoying these insanely priced bags, so that sort of makes me feel guilty. Now I've decided to only buy what I am sure I will use often, not because it's a classic or pretty. I don't see myself ever getting another classic flap because they sit on the shelf.

Cost aside, the entire shopping experience at Chanel gives me fatigue. Chasing down a bag is exhausting, then finding the bag isn't to my expectations for whatever reason is so disappointing. Dealing with difficult SA's is exhausting. Where's the champagne, coffee, any sort of special treatment when dropping thousands of dollars. I feel I spend more time browsing the grocery store than I get to casually spend during a trip to Chanel. It feels rushed and not fun in anyway.

I sure wish I had purchased a couple of Chanel bags back in 2014-2017 when I was very into Louis Vuitton and spending tons of money with them. I went from Coach to LV, back to Coach, back to LV and Gucci and YSL, but just now dipping my toes into Chanel. Seems the biggest price increases have happened in the last few years.
