Routinely ignored by jewelry counters - esp. at Tiffany, Saks, Barneys, Bergdorf's - unless I'm with DH or by best friend (who is male). Then the SAs are all over us!
The exceptions have been in the VCA store in NY (where I have a gem of a saleslady) and in Manhasset.
Off-subject a little - I had the most wonderful service when I went in to buy a car in NYC, no less. Expecting to be utterly ignored (or talked down to), I had a fabulous, no-pressure salesperson who gave us a great price. Ended up buying several cars from there. Go figure!
