I'd probably gone back the same night to retrieve it! You are so blessed and lucky! And thank goodness for the good ppl of this world.

Scarlet, my DH and DDIL both pleaded with me to let them go pick them up last night, but it was so late, and the manager said he'd put them in the safe. The baggy was marked, "Customers Earings. DO NOT TOUCH!!!!" :D

Yay love to hear stories with happy endings like this!!! I don't think you need to necessary give the manager a reward but a nice review on yelp or tripadvisor might be nice! =)

Whew, so happy for you, I can imagine the panic you when through!

I was a basket case, Suzie! It was the idea of being so careless with my beloved first ER diamond that put me over the edge. As some of you know, my DH is in poor health, and I believe the thing that had them put on a full court press to find them was that he went back into the restaurant alone and told them how important the earrings are to me.

You certainly are a lucky lady to have them turned in!! I know this awful feeling all too well-but so happy it turned out with your sentimental value earrings being returned:)

Since the manager won't accept money, I am certain a letter to the corporate office or if it is not part of a corporation, a letter to the owner would really help highlight this managers integrity. It may even help with a raise or some type of promotion when that time comes. You would be "reinforcing his good behavior" as one of my professors used to call it.

So happy that this story had a happy ending! I can't imagine what you must've been feeling but I'm sure we all share your relief that your earrings were found and safely returned to you. I second CATEYES suggestion about writing a letter highlighting the manager's integrity.
