Do Rolex watches keep good time?

I also wore mine 24/7 and it NEVER kept time, sometimes running up to 10 minutes late. I'm much too anal and gave up after 4 years. Although I miss having the look of a Rolex, I much prefer a quartz movement.

Mine runs slow too. I usually just adjust it. But I also don't wear it all the time so it eventually stops. I really should get a winder for it.

They were discontinued in 2001, but you can still find pristine examples online. Watch enthusiasts seem to love them online, since they provide Rolex character with quartz accuracy.

I find this so bizarre and wonder why Rolex wouldn't fix this issue so that their watches keep time as well as they look good.

Because it's a problem that you can't fix. Mechanical watches will always be far less accurate than a quartz watch. Even watches that are adjusted to six positions, that are compensated for temperature, with a multi axis tour billion and all other sorts of accuracy focused technologies will fall far below the accuracy of a 300$ citizen.

The only way to have a more accurate mechanical watch is to combine it with quartz technology, such as Seiko's hybrid spring-drive movement.

I have to wear mine all the time or it stops and it has always been that way. It used to be slow but now it keeps pretty good time, but again I have to wear it. Honestly Seikos keep better time!

Yeah if I had to do it again, I probably wouldn't buy another Rolex-so many other choices out there from which to choose. I got caught up in the Rolex craze many years ago.

I had this problem with mine after wearing it continually for about 12 years. I was told that a Rolex needs maintenance service to run optimally. I got it done last year and it's been right as rain. I asked the rep whether I should've gotten the service done sooner and he said that he usually tells people to get the service done once it starts getting wonky with accuracy. Some watches need maintenance more than others I guess? But anyway, I got the service done and it's back to perfect. And for a watch I've worn (and I mean WORN - I do not baby this watch in the slightest and spend a lot of time in water and dirt, banging around!) almost every day for the past 13 years I really can't complain!
