Do I need all these Luxury Bags or should I sell them all?

Tragic news. A few days after I posted this I was using my Bolide and noticed the leather on the handles had separated from the glazing! I am so sad. I am going to take to back to Hermes to see what they can do but now I am even more afraid to use it :(

You know, I recently bought a new s.u.v.
And drove it.:amazed:
Found some things were loose/wrong.
So took it dealer. Fixed.
Probably more stuff will get dirty, come loose, require replacement during use.
Especially if some fool slams into it, whilst mixing cocktails & updating his/her fb status on roadway.:annoyed:

Planning multi-state trek with dog & gear, now.
:shrugs:
As vehicle cost way more than my bolide, maybe should leave in garage & walk?

I am stuck at what to do, very conflicted. I have trimmed down my luxury bag collection to four bags. I love all my bags so much but I find that my Tote gets the most use. I use it every day for work and am finding I am using it a lot outside of work because I don’t go out much and I have two kids and it is convenient to just grab it and go.

My problem is my other three bags are just sitting there. Mind you I don’t want to use my Hermes Bolide and Chanel Classic flap too much as I want them to last the rest of my life and being only in my early 40s I’m hoping that will be a long time. My speedy B I use now and then especially when I need to be hands free it is perfect.

I also want a really nice leather bag I can use all the time, maybe another tote as my current tote is canvas. That being said I am wondering if I should just get rid of the Bolide, Classic Flap and Speedy and get a nice leather bag that can work multiple ways. I tend to like to use one bag for long, long periods of time especially if it works for my lifestyle. I love my luxury bags but I wonder if the money is going to waste having them just sit there. I am also not a wealthy person my bags were purchased with some money I inherited. I don’t need the money or anything I just have kids (one with a disability) and I think the money could be better spent. I just am afraid if I sell them I may never get them again.

Thanks for reading my novel.
A bolide, classic flap and speedy!! So nice !!!!! Please keep your bags and use them. Banish this lifestyle thought. Even if you are out on a casual day with kids, prepare the bolide the night before and in the morning just grab and go. Do the same the next day with the classic flap and so on...
Use your bags and ENJOY them. Don't wait for the perfect moment. Today is perfect already.
Take care !

That is what Hermès is for. This happened with a Birkin for me...they should fix gratis. But it should be like iron after.
I agree with those saying use and enjoy the bags.

You say you don’t use your bags because you want them to last a lifetime. A bag you buy at Walmart will last a lifetime if you put it on a shelf and leave it there... the point of luxury items lasting a long time is that they do so despite use. Your Bolide is a workhorse and you can take it to Hermes for refurbishment as needed. Just grab it and go!
This is wonderful advice. One thing many of us do not consider is we don’t know what our “lifetime” is going to be. It could end today or tomorrow. Or the quality of our life or of someone we love could be so radically changed that handbags have no meaning, value or use whatsoever. I want to squeeze every bit of use out of my lovely bags as I can. And if and when they wear out , or I do, they will have been enjoyed.

I took my bag into Hermes they are going to fix the handles and they suspect there will be no charge but they have to send it to Paris before they can confirm that. I will be without it for up to six months though. By then I will be so happy to have it back I will probably use it quite a bit.
You just stated the reason to keep all your bags. 6 months for them to fix! You need back ups! (nice ones at that!)

You answered your own question you’re “conflicted” which means do nothing until you are sure. Sounds like you are really having a tough time about other issues. It’s not really clear why you would sell if you’re. unsure. When you are ready to sell you will know.

I have recently sold so many of mine because of the same issue. I love them, but I never use them. So why have them sitting in the closet unused, some unused for years.

I sold quite a few. Some I am currently selling but unfortunately people don't want to pay what they should be worth. My bags are used very little and in as new condition with a price tag of less than half of retail for bags still being sold in stores. I can't even get that for them. So those bags will stay with me until I get the right price. I do want to sell them but not give them away.

I would not get rid of them. I think you will regret it if you sell them. I would look for a well priced tote and go from there. There are so many brands that you can explore without having to compromise on selling your classics. My two cents. Speaking from experience

I just started over too so i understand. Now I have two bags monogram pochette Métis for when I go out with my husband and friends and speedyb35 because I am a mom of 3 however going to add Gucci marmont or ysl camera bag to collection bc I would like to add a leather to my collection and that’s that lol maybe keep Speedy and sell the rest and get one everyday leather bag?

remainsilly, perfect example! :drinks:
Besides, unlike something made out of gold, both cars and bags will ‘age’ (to a degree) while sitting unused anyways, so we might as well enjoy it.
