DKNY Bags

Reviving this thread to ask a question. I’ve seen some pretty DKNY for sale on Facebook Marketplace very inexpensively — like $30 or $40. I also saw one for sale on a luxury handbag group I’m in for more than $300.

My question: is there a cheap PU version of Donna Karen bags sold? Or are there people just unaware of how much their bags are worth? Or perhaps buyers don’t know they’re valuable and sellers are forced to price them so low?

It is really hard to know what these inexpensive bags are like from pictures since I’m not very familiar with the brand. But they’re pretty, and if they are good quality I feel like I’m duty-bound to snatch some of these up.

Inexpensive $25 example:

Most DKNY bags don't hold their value very well. Some bags are indeed PU. Others have the same kind of hardware than the one you linked; that hardware loses its golden color and it gets pretty rancid very fast. That leather also loses its lustre.
The newer bags have better hardware and the leathers are better quality, the designs are better and more functional as well.

Some sellers are also totally clueless on the worth of their bag. I've seen the same Paris for sale for 40€ and 200€. Both bags were in pristine condition according to the pictures. It's up to your good luck to snatch the right bag at the best price.

Thank you @Amazona! I’ve had good luck getting faded leathers to bloom with conditioner, but the ratty hardware problem might be tougher to address. I appreciate your insight.

Additionally based on reading this thread, I may mosey over to TJ Maxx and see if they have any hanging around.

The old quilted leathers are very hard to bring back because the top layer is thin. I've tried, but we might have a different tactic and leather conditioners. The grained leathers are great, easy to revive. Please share your future finds!

I'm liking DKNY Paige satchel but what's stopping me from getting it, is not knowing if the leather is any good. I'm afraid it's the kind that doesn't last for very long. If anyone knows something similar in shape but better quality, let me know. Or, if you have the bag, I'd love to hear how it's been holding up in daily use.

Dkny printed leather can get dry and crack in the corners. The grained (and also smooth, to an extent) leather is more durable.
