Thanks. BTW I thought this was interesting, the Tiffany's SA told me I should push for more $$ from INS co because I had had the ring for so long diamonds have gone up in value, I should push for "replacement value". Hummmm, anythings worth a try, although I usually do better(in getting what I want)face to face instead of over the phone.

Another vote for Tiffanys. The insurance won't give you a problem. Just submitted a huge claim for my home robbery and they were very nice through the whole process.

Sorry you lost it but glad things turned out ok.

I wouldn´t buy a Tiffany one stone, you won´t get much of a stone for $2000 IMO. I´d rather buy somthing else or save the money, and add more to get a bigger one stoned ring:-) GL!

I would just put in a claim for the ring and not mention that you
changed it. How are they going to know since it is lost?

that's what i would do, too. tbh, it sounds like it's worth a lot of money so to avoid risk of being screwed, just tell them it was your ring. obviously they'll never know, because you're not lying, per se, just saying you lost it. it's the same diamonds, etc. just a different setting.
