Lots of the Rexys are sold out online... it's pretty much the majority of them. I really wanted the matte black one, too! Drat.
In one of the Fall teaser videos with Chloe Moretz they show her holding a gunmetal Rexy keychain. I'd be happy to see that one released!!!
As a whole, though, I'm not feeling these other Dinos. They aren't doing it for me. I guess I like how Rexy is a little dangerous and scary. I'd LOVEEE if they made a human skeleton bag charm in the same fashion (leather puzzle).

The new releases are still available. The ones that are sold out seem to be from a previous release. I was able to find the gold small Rexy at a brick and mortar boutique so even if it shows online, there is a chance that an item could still be available. Ask your SA to do a search.

I was going to wait until later to buy a small Rexy, but the updates on this thread made me nervous I would not get one.
I called a local store and they had one left in the gold with gunmetal hardware. She is holding it for me, and she told me they are getting a shipment on Tuesday that is supposed to have the black small Rexy, so I am going to look at both but buy just one. I am really interested in the blue small Rexy as well.

It is a good idea to at least take a look at the gold and compare because they are going to be hard to come by. Report back- I bought the black online and have not gotten a shipping date so I guess they are waiting for the supply to come in next week. I intend to keep both the gold and black as they will go with different bags and looks.
I bought the stegosaur 3 days ago and it's still processing too. If they don't have them in stock they should have said 'pre-order' instead of saying 'in stock'.

When I went by, they had not received
the expected shipment, so there was not an all black to look at. I was happy to be able to get the gold, and I think because he has the subtle holographic look, he will stand out on most bags. I was thinking that all black would not stand out on my Rexy tote at all.
I asked for a box, and it is the cutest little box, just like the big 1941 boxes with the sturdier cardboard and the flap closure.

I do think that this is most likely a production model because
1. They shoot campaigns so far in advance.
2. The clip on this is the old style. All bag charms since Pre Fall 2016 have started using the dog leash clip for attachment to purses (which I greatly appreciate!!! I remember horror stories of some of the old style coming unscrewed).
