So I have been pondering a Dinky for well over a year. I love the classic shape. I have decided it Is leather lining or nothing - and this bag qualifies. I thought the coin purse was a cute addition, but took up a lot of space. The Dinky was too dinky for my wallet, and essentials.

But I wanted a cute chain strap bag that could hold essentials, in a small package.

I nearly jumped in with the black one with the leather strap a couple of months ago. And while I was examining it, I noticed the black copper looked cool but wasn’t durable. It was chipped on the floor model. That made me leave it on the shelf. And it wasn’t Dinky day that day.

So I few weeks ago, I realized that I could use a bag with built in card slots for parties and going out. So I shopped a lot of brands. And the Mulberry I got wasn’t fitting the bill so I went to look around for something fitting. I really needed a longer strap and leather or a thicker strap is more comfy.

I went to Coach, thinking I might pickup a good mini wallet for a going out purse.

After sitting on the fence for forever, I took the plunge with a little lubrication from the friends and family coupon. For once 1941 wasn’t excluded.

I went back to those eye catching Dinkys.

And I noticed almost everything had black hardware.

But I have been very tempted with the links. Such a fun way to add texture.

Then I noticed the link version, with oxblood, and brass hardware.

Brass hardware negated the issues with black hardware.

I tried it on and the SA and another patron were egging me on. It did look pretty cute. And the color palette made it more special. And 40% off? I decided I could live with the coin purse. Turns out is a great option to hold a couple of cards and cash. Better than a WOC.

SOLD. And here she is:

Congratulations - what a beautiful bag. I love the Dinky; that kisslock pocket is really secure. You don't need to worry about cards or cash falling out when you open it. I'm a creature of habit and need to carry at least a small wallet, but the kisslock section does make that unnecessary.

The brass, oxblood and black make a beautiful combination. Enjoy her!

I see a big difference between the regular size and the 24’s; the bigger ones are much more practical for me. I hope we see more colours in this size. I really want 1941 Red or Rouge.

Also loving how the leather in the straps matches the handles of my tote.
Does it get scratch easily ?

Hm...it has a couple of faint scratches I guess, but they don't bother me at all. I have to go looking for them, and it's the nature of smooth leather. This Dinky is my travel bag; for me faint wear is just part of it having accompanied me on my trips.

The only bag I can really say I have signs of wear on is my Rogue 36 in Saddle. On one side, there's a faint spot where the leather has been worn slightly. I don't know if I rubbed up against something when it was on my shoulder (possible) or if it was there when I bought it. I noticed when I cleaned and conditioned it.

I bought that bag to be a workhorse tote. I carried it through Europe filled with umbrellas, sweaters, water bottles, guide books and snacks...as well as the usual wallet/cosmetic bag. Saddle isn't a colour I have to baby much; that's why I like it. I only wear it as a shoulder bag because it's so big, but I'll wear it over denim or other dark jackets and not worry at all. It weighs a lot full, so I put it on the ground on trains, restaurants, etc. I wouldn't deliberately put it somewhere dirty, but I'm not going to baby it like I would a light colour or suede either.

I take good care of my bags; they'll all stuffed and in dust bags. If they've been worn a lot, I take them to Coach to be cleaned and conditioned. But at the end of the day, I don't expect them to always look new. Just to wear well.

I like this look overall and the C tie lock doesn't bother me like it does some. That said, the quilted bags feel too dressy for my wardrobe in Vermont. If we still lived in DC I'd rationalize a black quilted Dinky for fancier evenings out!

Well I have been looking for an evening oxblood bag. I just returned a Mulberry one - the chain was too short.

I just got the link Dinky, and it is awesome but may be a little busy for my patterned items. And then of course this lovely quilted one shows up. In the dream color. I am tempted. I also love that the Dinky is so discreet.

I guess I need to go look in person. It seems to be only in our flagship store.

I don’t like it at all, but I’m not a fan of obvious branding or logos.

I really like the quilted black Dinky with rivets that doesn’t have the C-turnlock.

I’m going to try to go to the store and check it out. I am also not a fan of big logos or branding, but this might be subtle enough to pass muster. Not as subtle as a regular Dinky - but pretty minimal.
