Hi all.... I have been reading through all the posts... it's so very annoying when all you want is to buy a lovely piece, have a good experience and love your purchase. But when you get home and really examine your purchase and find it's not exactly right it's so disappointing. I really wish that luxury sales assistances would read all these posts and understand that the last thing we want is to go back to the store and have to "waste" their time and ours to get the right piece for us! Dipped my toes into vca only recently, bought the sweet mop alhambra necklace loved it then went to buy the vintage onyx alhambra necklace to stack only to find that the two yellow golds are so very different.... I've got Cartier, Tiffany & Co and local jewellery store 18k gold and it's all in the same yellow gold hue as was the vca sweetie alhambra mop necklace, but I've noticed that the alhambra onyx necklace chain is a warmer gold to the actual gold around the pendant and visually different to all my other necklaces which is not acceptable and I don't care for any explanation except to say it's faulty and they will rectify the problem! But NOOOO here I am stressing out about going back to the store and looking like a fool trying to explain the situation, only to probably get "eye rolls" behind my back and then second guess myself whether to exchange or keep the one I purchased! Sorry for the rant but it shouldn't be so hard to expect to get what you paid for!

So after all that my question is, should I keep my vca vintage alhambra onyx pendant and just enjoy it, or go back to the store and check out others!? 😓
Go back because it’s bothering you. Unless you don’t plan to wear it with your other pieces, you will continue to be bothered.

You're not happy with it so don't accept less than you expect......these are expensive items and you don't need to settle when they are not 100% for you. Others will chime in about the different shades of gold i.e. whether that's normal or not so that you can consider whether VCA is right for you if variations are normal.

A good SA will be understanding & try her/his best to make sure you’re happy with the purchase. Bring it in and ask for an exchange  If the SA gives you any eye roll then more reason to return it, it’s one thing to think that the product is fine as is but there’s no need to be rude.

Hello! I recently purchased the vintage alhambra 5 motif bracelet in hammered gold and yellow gold to match with my 2 yr old vintage alhambra pendant in hammered gold and yellow gold. I noticed that my pendant is more yellow gold (more towards my liking) whereas the new bracelet has a lighter shade of yellow gold.

Is that expected? I asked my SA and he said it is due to the different combination of elements to make the yellow gold, hence making the jewellery truly handcrafted, etc. Another SA mentioned it is because my necklace has oxidised hence making it more yellow in nature.

Anyone else have the same experience as me?
How are your 2 pieces now, are they still different or have they oxidised to same darkee yellow?

I noticed this with my RG hammered Alhambra...worn twice, kept in box and then when the earrings came the difference was noticeable.

Now I also noticed it with YG hammered 5 motif A..bracelet 1 worn a handful of times 7 months old and new one came now and difference is obvious.

I'm really ok with it, understand oxidisation, but curious is both will eventually arrive at the same

If you're just dealing with oxidation, you can try to use Connoisseurs's ultrasoft gold polishing cloth on the darker piece. I use it on my sweet 6 motif hammered once a month to keep it looking brand new. I'm always amazed by how much tarnish comes off on the cleaning cloth despite me cleaning it quite often.

Do you know if the Connoisseur cloth is same as the rouge polishing cloth that polishes but takes a microlayer of gold to buff out scratches? I want it to look brand new but it has no scratches since it's been rarely worn. Thanks.

Seems normal considering multiple factors. The shade of gold will change after showering with your pieces after so many times. I hope that helps!
It's really oxidisation almost due to air exposure. It's been worn only a handful of times, not even exposed to water. I'm not bothered, more curious if the original poster's 2 pieces have become same colour after months of being "exposed" to natural external factors.

I'd suspect they work similarly. I only use the inner layer to gently wipe off the tarnish (usually see them around the edges) and rinse off the piece with distilled water to get rid of any residue, I don't use the outer layer to buff/polish it though.

Thank you for letting me know. It’s my first time seeing 2 different shades and I thought I got a defective product.

It’s going to be difficult to return in my country so I am keeping it. I have been waiting for it for some time too.
I just got a hammered yg 10 motif and thought it was very pale on me and also was wondering if it is normal I did some research and apparently over time it becomes more yellowish. I have the rg hammered set aswell and its darkening.

These are not hammered pieces but I went to buy a ring today to match my recently purchased pave Alhambra pendant. When my SA brought out the ring, I thought it was yellow gold! They had it in 3 sizes and they all looked the same. I didn't end up getting the ring because the RG looked too yellow to me.

On the left is the ring and on the right is my pendant, both RG. Pendant I just got in October.

My perlee signature bangle was purchased in 2022 and the clover bangle purchased recently. I also notice that the signature bangle looks more yellow compared with the new one. My SA said it is darker because of our body’s acidity that reacts with the gold since I’m wearing it for a longer time the colour warms up more. She helped do a cleaning and the colour is restored to a lighter colour. The two bangles are quite close in colour after cleaning. IMG_6397.jpeg

Maybe, it did only happen to me so far with my hammered RG. I just got a guilloche piece so will see how it stands the rest of time. I do think it’s strange that it doesn’t happen this badly with other brands.
Hi! I stumbled on this after buying my YG guilloche bracelet and noticing it’s a totally different color than my onyx bracelet (both Alhambra and 4 months apart), did you YG guilloche begin to oxidize?

All my pieces are oxidizing and changing color when I wear them (I do not shower with them, and they go in the box after I wear them, I do not sleep with them).

Cleaning them at the VCA boutique makes them look new again. It’s not convenient but it’s better than nothing I guess.
