Okay, so here’s my diy mini woc. Based on the type of clasp the chain had, I fashioned my insert to minimize any bulkiness. My wallet has light gold hw but the chain is silver. Can you tell a difference? Am I nitpicking too much about the thickness of the chain? I kind of prefer the mini chain from mautto like @Pinkachan ... lemme know thoughts....

You did a great job! With the larger clasps, it was a good idea to hide them as that was a reason I didn't like the Samorga chains - clasps were too big for cardholders & wallets. As for the chain thickness, I think it looks fine. I'd personally prefer the petite chain, but I'm OCD like that.
I saw Mel's video as well and as I just bought a Chanel card holder, I decided to try it with my removable chain from a Ferragamo mini bag. It's not attached to an insert, I just tuck it inside. I don't mind the leather on either side because it matches the leather strap at the top of the chain and means there's no metal rubbing against the lambskin card holder.
It's fun and a great idea I think! Since it's a style Chanel already sells (for a premium), why not?

Why not, indeed! I think it looks great! It's nice to find other ways to use the SLGs instead of always having them hidden away in our bags. For those of us that like mini bags, this is such a simple/economical way to convert a wallet/card holder into one.
I made my card flap into a belt bag, card bag as well. You can order an insert/chain on Etsy, but living in the US, it takes a long time to get here from China or Hong Kong, so I made my own. Excuse the PJs lol.

I'd love to do the belt bag idea but I need to buy a special chain for that.
The chain is from Amazon. It’s a copy of the pearl crush adjustable with faux leather. They have it in black with multiple hardware colors (gold, silver, ruthenium, and brass) and white with gold. But it’s pretty long, being 47-51”, for my waist so the ball needs to be adjusted to have it lay out around your waist nicely. I will probably have it cut.
Another way you can make it a belt bag is to use a very short chain and then just hang it to a regular belt. You can hang it on a chain belt for a multi strap look.
Good job with the belt bag/cross body! I am still searching for the right width chain. I think the one you have looks more proportionate, so I may have to try this one!

Glad you saw this post in time! Mautto's chains are beautifully made, too. You'd never know it wasn't an official Chanel chain.
