I have that exact sweet and wear it stacked with my yellow gold stuff. I actually really love the difference in color. Like you said, it is really subtle, so most won't notice at first glance, but I can see it because I stare it all day.

I came into this thread wondering what you had had done.I'm actually considering gold plating one of my H silver pieces, but it seems like blasphemy so I'm hesitant (plus I don't know where to get it done!)

I wouldn't alter it. You can't really tell it's PG by the way, at least from the photos.

I don't wear PG and YG as a personal choice, so I understand your hesitation to wear them together. What I do is just wear my PG VCA piece by itself or with other PG pieces.

If you want this piece to wear every day, then I'd inquire with VCA about a special order in YG. Your hesitation may mean you don't really love the piece.

I reset my diamond studs from a platinum setting to a yellow gold setting (same reason, couldn't stand mixing metals) and I regret it even after I switched them back! I wasted a ton of money and time for the reset only to find out I liked them how they were originally (go figure).

Leave it! I can't even tell it is pink in the picture! I think the difference between red and yellow gold only really becomes apparent in larger pieces. Believe me, no one will notice! When some users posts pics of their red and yellow gold love bracelets it is even hard to tell the difference! I am kind of anti-mixing metals too, but I don't have a problem with yellow and pink, just yellow/pink and white metals. Just leave it be! :smile1:

Thanks to all of you ladies! I do love it and dont feel comfortable at all altering it... I guess ill just give my self sometime to get used to it!

Yes. I have several pieces of high end, not designer pieces of yellow gold jewelry I rhodiumed white. You can’t tell the difference. I have one silver piece plated in 14K yellow gold. If it’s done by a qualified and talented jeweler it will last. If it takes changing the color to make you want wear it, I’m all for it. There is no sense in keeping things around if you don’t wear it. Or sell it.

I plated a 4ct diamond tennis bracelet. It was YG to start and I had it rhodium plated because I wanted it to be white. I am on the fence about the results. I have had it 5 years now and it still looks white but still think the diamonds look a tad warm compared to my engagement ring. I think it might be because its still YG where the diamond meets the setting although I can't see it.

It’s also possible the diamonds are slightly yellow to begin with that’s why it was made in yg. Jewelers like set whiter diamonds in wg and slightly yellow diamonds in yg for that reason. You can always have it rhodiumed again if the metal is starting to turn yellow again.

Well I'll stand alone and say if you're not happy and have a jeweler you can trust have them change it. I have a jeweler that DH and I love! We have him change pieces, custom make pieces etc. I've had a few of my items rhodiumed to make them white and now I wear and love them! Do whatever makes you happy! Just keep in mind if you ever sell the item you will need to disclose the change to the buyer. Good luck deciding!!!
