Did anyone ever plate/changed the color of high end jewelery piece?

What are your thoughts ladies? Regardless of the reasons..

Did anyone here do it? Would you do it?

Can you be more specific about what type of piece you are thinking of altering?

I think most people would re-set or remake a piece with the stones if they were unhappy with the metal.
To me plating and high-end are not compatible. Unless you are plating white gold with rhodium.

I just got this carnelian heart sweet bracelet in RG and as much as I love it I am a little bit conscious about how different it looks worn with my YG jewelry, the photos by the way dont show the difference as it is in real..

Personally I would not alter a VCA piece in that way. ( Although I like VCA's RG and find it works well with all metals.)
You might consider selling it to find something you would enjoy more.

Wow it's gorgeous! I like mixing metals and I probably would leave it rose gold. i'd also worry about plating around the carnelian. What about removing the heart and putting it on a new chain? Then it would only have small rose color around the heart?

I wouldn't alter it...the YG could come out a different colour then VCA's YG and then you would be out of options and still not happy with the colour.

do you not like the RG? maybe VCA could make a special YG version as a special request?

No I love it! Its just that im not used to mixing metals i guess.. Although im sure that the difference is so subtle that no one else but me is noticing it! Lol

I think VCA RG is gorgeous and goes really well with both WG and YG it's a nice median between the two. I don't love WG and YG worn together but once you add in a RG piece they blend nicely! have you tried your 3 sweets all together?
