Here's a pic for you. Mine are 1.24 tcw. I do have teeny earlobes.

You can definitely get by with "lower" color for studs. Go I-J if you can, because if they're well cut, the warmth won't show, and really, it won't matter because no one is gonna get close enough to your head for it to show!

Thanks Skyqueen! What do you think of J colour with VS2 clarity and ideal cut? I have found a pair of 1.48 carat studs with those stats but am a bit hesitant on the colour. I have an ideal cut pendant with VS2 clarity and I colour from the same vendor though and the diamond is stunning (and faces up white), so I'm not sure if J would be that different being just one colour grade lower than I? These are using the build your own studs tool and I would choose a three prong martini setting in 18k white gold.

I am only looking at ideal cut diamonds but am happy to play around a bit with clarity and colour to get the best deal size and price-wise.

I love the 3 prong martini...great light saturation/sparkle! I'm a bit color sensitive so G is the lowest I'd go but that's just me. The right cut will hide a multitude of sins!
Trust your eye.................

They look so pretty on you! Thanks so much for the photo, it is easier to visualise what this size range might look like now. I have found a pair of studs which are 1.30 and literally just over half the price of the 1.48 ones, so very tempted...

Thanks everyone, I will definitely get the VS2/J ones if I go over the 1.40 size but am still considering the 1.30 ones as they are such a good price (compared to the 1.48 ones anyway!) and stats are good at ideal/SI/G. The only problem is that this will be an online purchase and although I have never been disappointed with the diamonds I have bought from this vendor before I feel a bit nervous about buying SI clarity studs without seeing them first, to ensure they are eye-clean. They do have a great returns policy so I guess I can always return them if I am not happy though... They also allow you to upgrade which is quite unusual here in the UK, I like the idea of that as it won't then feel such a jump in expense if I decide to go even bigger in the future! :p

Just remember to post pics! Also go with the 3 prong martini. Oh la la!

I think you should go bigger. I have a pair of 1.4ish ct round, I got them for the same reason as yours, for work and don't wanna be too snowy... Alot of times i think they are too small for everyday. I agree with the poster above, they do have "diamond shrinkage" over time. I'm thinking of adding a halo onto mine.

Oops just realized the OP has already bought her earrings

Congrats OP! Please post pics :)

LOL, no decision made yet so can still be swayed :p I'm planning on ordering them towards the end of next week, so difficult to make a final decision on size! I think I will definitely keep the size under 1.50, even if just under, as the price at 1.50 is just ridiculous here. I can afford it but it would mean no other jewellery purchases for quite a while.

I do want to buy a diamond eternity band in YG too to wear as a RHR with my Love and a possible future YG Love ring (this one: http://www.annoushka-jewellery.com/...llery-online/Eclipse/Eclipse-Eternity-Ring/90), so going for around 1.40 studs will give me a bit of extra budget to do that!

I got just below 1ctw and I find that they're the biggest I'd want for everyday. I almost wish I'd gotten 3/4tcw sometimes - but am generally happy with mine!

However I know I'm in the minority here :)
