I've heard that the marquise shape is the "cheapest" to buy... as in, another diamond that's a different shape but the same carat weight, otherwise identical specs, would be more expensive. Is this true?

I've also heard that rounds tend to be the most expensive.

^ european cuts are cool, but not as sparkly and has the same presence as today's modern brilliant.

if you bought a older type stone, the chances that it might face up a tad warm is higher because a lot of european cuts available online etc from what I've seen are lower in color. But one thing great about older cuts is they have pretty good clarity. This is from what I've been seeing.

rounds are not pricier because of their popularity, it's because of their cut. They have more facets = more handiwork involved.

I LOVE OEC's!!!

I only tried on a few rounds, but found them to actually be the cheaper option I was looking at...?? I know the cushions for the same size, similar gradings were more expensive that we were shown at the few stores I went to with my bf.

Actually, my aunt told me that rounds are the priciest and that princess cuts are cheapest because less of the rough diamond is cut off. I personally think that they're all gorgeous! Diamonds are diamonds!!

I asked my aunt about this and she said that it's because certain styles like cushion cuts are more popular at the moment and so they're pricier. However, if you're looking for something that will appreciate quicker you should go for round stones because they're always sought after, classic and they're the hardest to cut.

I agree, they are on the warmer side but the clarity very good. I have my heart set on that warmer LM tone with a FG halo around it.
