I bet you - you'll take a look at those two diamonds and you'll end up buying something else..perhaps something a little bit more expensive. I've seen it happen here in tPF so many times especially when it comes to Tiffany stones. :smile1:

I'll let you know on sat when I visit.

Another interesting stone came up now I'm really strugglin:

2.01/F/VS1 depth: 59.6%, table: 60%, crown angle: 33.5 and pavilion: 40.9.
2.01/F/vs1 depth: 62.3%, table: 56%, crown 35.3; pavilion: 40.7.

Both score well on HCA, but I'm not sure which depth and table are optimum.

On a 60% table like that one it's less rainbow fire and more white light return. So the stone won't sparkle the same way as one with a smaller table.

That first one is like a 60/60. They're nice, but they're a different light return animal sometimes. You have to see it in person in several lighting environments to judge if you like it for yourself. IIRC, SKPhoto has a 60/60 stone and she doesn't see as much rainbow fire as a "standard" ideal cut RB.

So late to the thread, but yes, I have a 60:60 stone. LOADS of white light return. For a short while it did have fire (rainbow flashes) but that was in an in between setting where it set up really high. It's new setting is higher than my original, but not as high as the in between setting and it no longer has the fire it did. From this experience I learned, that with my diamond anyway, it has to be set high enough to CLEARLY be able to see the diamonds culet from the side view in the setting for it to have fire.
I'd re-set it higher, but there is NO way I'm going through that hassle again just for some fire. It still has fire in stores and homes/restaurants with recessed or can lighting. Just no fire in sunlight or regular indoor lighting. Just sparkly brilliance.
