Not an enormous difference but you can see that the 1/3 carat are bigger. they are .16 or so each as opposed to .12 or .13 each and at that size you can see that much of a difference.

I gave my niece .25 ctw earrings and also gave my son a single earring of that size. .25 is a nice size. You can definitely see it and both of their earrings look nice, even though not ideal cut or even especially white (maybe J color I think? Set in yellow gold).

I own a pair of .10 ctw and on my particular ears you can't see those especially well. They are also something like I2's and don't have much sparkle. But they are in a pretty buttercup setting and I wear them as a second earring a lot of the time. they are a sentimental gift from my husband.
Normally (without the buttercup setting) .10 ctw is so small that my son complained that he felt that the diamond was about to go backwards through his ear hole . with Tiffanys, the bezel may help with this issue? Also, they are probably a good color and a great cut.
Whiteflash should be awesome if you get their ACA's in melee--I have large whiteflash earrings and it is amazing how much they sparkle. Even in rotten lighting conditions. When my other diamonds aren't sparkling, those babies still sparkle and I think that really small earrings (I don't count .25's as really small) would be awesome from them (although not cheap. I'd hate to tell you what I paid for my 1.81 ctw--my bigger pair.)

Just to make you aware, there are always .25 and .33 ctw pairs of earrings at pawnshops and many are quite nice and they are AMAZINGLY more affordable.

If you are not going to go truly high end, like Tiffany or Whiteflash.com, you might as well go there and pay $60-$90 for the same J or K color I1 earrings that you buy at the mall for $300-$400 (in the smaller sizes).

My mother got a 1.30 ctw pair there this year, set in white gold and they are not as sparkly as my ACA's, but she paid thousands of $$$ less--and they get admired all the time. I am not thinking of switching with her--I love mine like anything, but there are better deals out there. My mom's are very pretty and sparkly.

Love good old gold!! Very reputable and helpful.

I'm not Swanky, but I'm sure she'll agree that ideal cut is important no matter what size.

GOG is the bomb, BOMB. I only mentioned the "enemy" BGD and WF because I know they have Melee that is H&A cut. (They are the enemy bec my experiences were terrible with them)

I remember that you had a bad experience with them back in the day. I've actually had good service from BGD, so I'd recommend them, too, if the OP can find something reasonably priced.

Sorry you had a bad experience. I had a great experience with whiteflash.com and would recommend them to anyone.
Bluenile.com also has nice smaller diamond earrings, but you can only get screwbacks and they are not upgradable. You can create your own with them and make a little nicer than the pre-sets (for somewhat more money).
I have had great experiences with bluenile.com too.

I have a pair of .25 tcw studs and I really like them. Mine are the princess cut presets from Blue Nile, but they have round ones too. I am happy with the amount of sparkle. I know some people aren't fans of screw back earrings, but I absolutely love that about them because I know they won't fall out or get lost when I am wearing them!

Thank you everyone for the suggestions! And again, sorry to OP for hijacking this thread! Roberto Coin's look yummy but unfortunately are out of budget. This is going to be a present from me to me so I'd like to keep it within my budget and not ask the bf for help. I found some studs from futurefashionista as well and those sound good.
