Diamond Cut confusion

This is what I just don't get about jewelers--- diamond cut is the *most* important of the 'C's', yet rarely, if ever, is it indicated on the tag or any other information pertaining to the diamond. It's like pulling teeth to try to get the info.
It's just never included in the advertised diamond specs-- I don't get it at all. *shakeshead*

I think it's because they can get inferior cuts for cheaper so they don't advertise the cut grade. Just speculation.

Just curious, were you actually looking at round diamonds when discussing this or a fancy shape diamond?

Round ... I asked to see a round on a knife cut band when I walked in because I am very interested in the design. She pulled out a two 2 carat diamonds and that is when I started asking about the cut because one of the diamonds looked much different but the other C's were the same for both... so I figured it was a cut difference

Yeah, RUN from that jeweler!!!!!! Cut isTHE MOST IMPORTANT part to a diamond. Even GIA triple ex. will have differences in appearance as I know first hand -had a round GIA xxx with 41.2 pavilion and had a dark ring in center and couldn't get past it so upgraded to a GIA xxx with 40.8 pavilion and no more ring in center. Crown and pavilion angles as well as symmetry determine a diamond's sparkle and brightness. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Many tutorials on a website good old gold
