Thanks everyon!! On day two of wearing the watch, he said it's much more comfortable than the other watch I bought him. I'm so happy to hear that! haha

awwww, this is so sweet. i love how thoughtful you are to each other. the watch is the bomb! my DH also wants a submariner or GMT and i kinda like the GMT more! it just has a little more going on (the green hand, the contrasted links, etc). great choice!!! i'm so glad he loves the watch. congrats!!!

Thanks kim!! DF wanted a submariner too but after trying both on at the store, he told me he liked the GMT more because it has the "cool" green 24 hour hand whereas since I'm a girl, I was attracted to the shinier links! lol. Are you planning on getting him a watch soon??

Aww thank you periogirl!!! May I ask, what did you get your SO??[/QUOTE]

I got DH a self-winding Patek. It is simple, classic and something he wears everyday. I love the fact that we both got our DH watches which they love and will look at several times a day. I hope they both get as much enjoyment as we do when we look at our our E rings. BTW love your Soleste!

Love the ceramic bezel !

And I've switched around the strap of my Submariner (I have the nato straps as well) and I'm sure it shows on the pins but Rolex didn't say anything when I brought the watch in for servicing.

Oh, I just went back and looked, I love that green hand!

nah, he just got his milgauss with green sapphire crystal so this would be a future purchase.

That watch is awesome! What a great present for you to give him :)
I gave my husband a watch too for his wedding present - a Breguet!

Thank you!! I LOVE Breguets. They are so classic and clean looking. They are definitely on the list as a future anni present!

This makes me thing of what I want to get DF for the wedding! You are so sweet and what an amazing present! He's one lucky guy :)

Aww thank you!!! But really, I'm the lucky girl! What are you planning on getting your DF? I thought my dad would yell at me for getting DF a watch, esp because I am in school full-time and basically just spent all my savings on his watch but he loved it. Even my mom approved! My inspiration were my parents: my mom got my dad a gold Longines watch 33 years ago for his wedding present and he still wears it!

Aww thank you!! :hugs: Wow, a Patek! My dream is to make enough money so I can buy DF his dream car and a Patek! I totally believe they love and adore their watches as much as we love and adore our e-rings. Both gifts came from the heart!

very nice of you! Nice watch!

Thank you!!

Oh wow! How awesome! Do you have any pics of your Sub?

I'm glad switching out the bracelet doesn't void the warranty. Now that I think about it, putting in a NATO strap may be very common, esp with the sport models, so thank you for telling me! I feel very reassured that I'm not doing something awful and "illegal" to his watch! haha!

Oh, I just went back and looked, I love that green hand!

Thank you! I thought the watch looked a little busy at first, but DF loves it and so I love it too!

I loooveee your watch. I feel Cartier watches are pretty reasonably priced among luxury brand watches. I hope one day I can get a ballon bleu too!

Okay seriously? I want to join your family!!! I love your gift giving style!!! haha... what a stunning choice - you have a lucky DH!

Thank you! Jen, are you kidding me? I want to join YOUR family! You have had an amazing jewelry year - VCA, Cartier and Tiffany!

Oh wow, our men have similar taste! I was going to get him the green milgauss too! He liked it because it was limited edition and very cool looking with the orange lightning bolt but DF wanted a date and it was a deal breaker for him. It's a super cool watch! I'm sure your DH loves it!

I agree about the pricing! Whenever I see a watch on here and think "hmm, should I have considered that?" I check the price, and it's always more than I could have afforded. I was lucky to get it before the latest price increase.

Awe...what a nice gift! I gave hubby a tag watch on his birthday the year we got married. He wore it on our wedding day. The guys should get something nice too! After all, they forked out quite a bit for our lovely e-rings....

Unfortunately I don't have one with the NATO strap on !

I know that what will defiinitely void the warranty is any work done to the dial, bezel or the movement of the watch. I've seen a lot of custom watches, for instance with aftermarket diamonds or a skeleton back put on. Unfortunately, they sell for much less if you compare the resale values as Rolex will no longer touch the watch!
