Designer Shoes - Are they worth it?

Great points! I do both actually for all kinds of items. I have these Zara boots that are super comfortable, warm, and durable and they last through all kinds of weather. But I also wear my knee-high Chanel boots quite a lot too.

I became more aware of the need to baby my expensive ones after I wore my eel skin designer boots on a snowy day. They were completely ruined and since the pair was so unique, I have never to this day been able to get a replacement for those. I learned my lesson so I check the weather before going out in nice shoes.
Oh I'm sorry to hear about the poor boots

I hate babying things but I like my stuff to look pristine so it's a struggle lol

You don't have to be a VIP to get a classic ( at least in the US). They will sell it to you if they have it. With the prices being so high, plenty are available for purchase.
That's good to know! I am in Australia, and I got put on a waitlist for a black mini flap nearly 2 years ago now and haven't received a call and then I heard people saying they were only really offering classic styles to VIP or regulars but I am certainly more optimistic now :)

Agree with PP…bags before shoes. That said, I’ve been pretty much as bag peace for a while and am more focused on designer shoes and accessories these days. But re: Chanel ballerinas, I’ve found that they just don’t fit me right or suit me. So despite being a classic staple, I’ve found other Chanel shoe options that work for me.

Thank you for this reply! It's helping me stay on course with getting a bag and then turning my attention to shoes, accessories (love the coco crush rings)... sometimes you just need to hear this advice from people who get the whole designer/chanel bag shoe etc thing... god bless this forum for existing, I wouldn't have anyone to discuss designer items with otherwise

I think minis are probably the exception to this, the black classic mini tends to sell without being put on a shelf, they’re the ones you need to have a relationship with an SA for, barring a lucky break

It's such a shame because resellers put the price up so much on the resale market! My dream purchase would be a so black mini but they don't pop up very often and I doubt I would get lucky at the boutique for that one as it is so rare and seasonal!

Oh yes with the mini that seems to be true. I've been looking for one over a year and half myself and no luck. But if you're looking for anything else, you'll be fine.
