Dear Ms. H,

What a beautiful handbag! You are right; the photo doesn't give any indication of the protective feet. I called one of our stores that has the handbag, and was assured that it does indeed have the feet. She advised that they are the same color as the handbag itself. I hope you'll enjoy shopping with us again soon, and have a wonderful evening!

This is funny.
I'm going to KS tomorrow because I need to return something. I'll try to remember to look for this bag and/or ask.

It looks like you've made your decision but here's a couple things to factor in:
- They're two different styles/shapes, one is a crossbody while the other is a satchel (it has the top handle as well as a long strap) and while it's great that it's multifunctional you also need to see which one fits your needs. I've owned my fair share of satchels but eventually learned they're not for me. If I wasn't carrying much, the bag would swing around but if I carried more, it was heavy/uncomfortable to carry especially since I'd be commuting downtown in a major city.
- The sizes of both bags are different so if you don't plan to carry much, I'd go for the Byrdie but if you need the additional space go for Makayla.
- The bags are made of different leathers, saffiano (Byrdie) and pebbled (Makayla) and while each has its pros/cons, the Byrdie would be my choice based on my style/needs.
Good luck deciding and can't wait to see what you choose[emoji4]!

Totally!.. I'm still on the fence. I have only the saffiano leather and that pebbled leather does look quite nice. Now if we can only get the foot debate cleared up....

I voted for the Mikayla. It's a new design so you'll be less likely to run into others with the same bag. The front flap design is quite cute and really captures a spring feel. I agree with others that pink is easy to match plus it adds warmth and feminity to any outfit. I personally prefer a satchel. I can always set it down without worry of getting it dirty or falling over. Carrying an item in alternating hands is easier on my back, neck, shoulders than a cross body. I love Kate Spade's pebbled leather.

They are both beautiful bags! Good luck with your decision!

Their pebbled leather is nice and good quality, assuming it's the same as the Orchard Street collection - all of my other KS bags are saffiano leather so I can't speak on the other lines. Is there a KS boutique near you where you could go check out the bag?

Usually, yes. But I'm not in the area until May. I have just the saffiano as well.

Yeah - totally. I'm starting to just think they are being ridiculous. I got two emails back saying that they don't know why I got my bag nordstroms without feet (???) and today I got

I had enough. I can't take it anymore! I love protective feet under the bag! I'm going in tomorrow to see myself! Lol! I don't understand why the pic doesn't show feet if it comes with them. Wonder if it was a sample they used for taking pics and forgot to update pic with the actual production item.

My guess is the KS website photo editor got overexcited and photoshopped the feet out by accident. The full size pink Makayla has feet in photos from other dept stores like neiman and bloomies. And stores without that color show feet on that size in other colors.

It's frustrating the KS photo doesn't show the feet.

.....and you know what's even worse? One Kate Spade customer service person wrote me that the pink granite Makayla does NOT have feet and the next day another CS lady said 'yes it comes with feet.' Nordstroms actually called one of their stores to confirm. So yeah, how you can photoshop out feet is silly to me - but if you look at even the small Makayla, it doesn't have feet either. To feet or not to feet, that is the question. Sorry to be driving all you ladies bonkers - I'm not in the States for the next months and obviously, there is nary a KS store anywhere within several thousand miles of me and I want to take advantage of this 'Spice It Up' 25% off all sale styles before it's gone on the 27th! So anyone venturing out to a store to have a peek-see would be great....for all of our sanity. :)

That's crazy the KS Rep specifically said that about the pink. Yikes!

The small Makayla is tiny! I'm not surprised it doesn't have feet considering the small size. I have to wonder if the difference in the two sizes is the cause of all the confusion.

I hope someone is able to find one in store for you!

Yes, me too! Originally I thought of the Byrdie - which is still totally cute to me. So there's that - but I already have the small and large Hayden (both in black), a small Hayden in that combo of cement and linen, a black large Jensen and the larger Candace with the combo of porcini, natural and linen. I have been currently using my small black Hayden and honestly, some days I find it to be a tad too small. I never zip it up, and this last weekend when I did, I ripped open my pinkie on the zipper! :( I was wanting a pink or lilac bag for the spring/summer months and I still love my cement/linen small Hayden but gosh - I just saw this scalloping and thought 'ooooh.' And that color! Hey and what about this pink....is it Pepto Bismol IRL or more of a grey-pink. Again, depends on what site you're looking at. The Brydie to me, looks around the same size as the small Hayden. I'll have to check that again.
