I wanted to mention that although beachy bags seem delicate, they are usually tougher than they look, and using the Apple Rain and Stain Garde can help to protect them.
I used the spray (link below) on the white leather trim and handles of the new yellow and white Preston bag and wristlet it didn't hurt the coated canvas at all. I tried it on the bottom first and saw that it wasn't a problem. It did leave some residue on the coated canvas but I was able to wipe that off easily with a damp cloth. I always give bags 2 applications of the spray, with a half-hour between spraying. It's best to spray bags outside or in a well-ventilated area inside.
My canvas Audrey cinched fish tote and shell wristlet (see pic below) have held up well. I treated them both with the Apple Garde when I first bought them about 3 years ago and they still look good even though they have white fabric stripes and are trimmed in white leather. They don't get a lot of use because they are festive summer event and vacation bags - but they get used hard during those events.
I found a few small spots on the Audrey bag but they spot-cleaned up easily with soap and water. So I also took them outside and gave them 2 fresh applications of the Apple Rain Garde, too.
I used up a can of the spray yesterday for these 4 products but I have found that it really helps to protect my bags. This is especially important to me since I take public transportation to work and it is hard to avoid the weather and some abuse. The spray has never damaged or altered any of my bags but it is always wise to spot-test any products in an obscure spot before treating the entire bag.
If you are wearing regular nail polish, wear gloves because the spray makes the polish feel tacky. It doesn't affect the no-chip gel polish.
