Deciding between Magnolia & Rose Extreme

I think Magnolia is beautiful but I'm biased towards Rose Extreme! My K20 is in RE and like everyone else mentioned it is really hard to capture its true color as it can range from looking bright red to hot pink in different lightings. It is gorgeous! Very vibrant and fun!

Magnolia is definitely more on the purple side. I think you really couldn't go wrong with either, they are both great colors!

Thank you, @foxyqt! I think you’ve swayed me to go with the RE. I’m getting a small bag so it might just be perfect. Like you said, it’s vibrant and fun. Just what I’m looking for! I’ll certainly post when my final decision arrives to my house.

Rose Extreme is not hot pink. RE is watermelon red. Rose Shocking & Rose Tyrien are Hot Pink....
Seeing is believing... Here are Rose Shocking, RE and Rose Jaipur together with no filter in natural lighting... I can tell you that THIS is how RE looks IRL... it's stunning but not (what I call) hot pink. Mag has more white in it so it's not quite a hot pink but it is also very beautiful pink. HTH!
This is a great comparison pic. In a vacuum, would you put Rose Extreme in the Red Family or the Pink Family? All of my SLG's are stored/used by color family and RE is challenging for me in that regard. I struggle with Capucine, too...is it red or is it orange? And Vermillion? Don't get me started on Vermillion!

I totally agree with your color confusion. hahaha Hermes does do color so well; mimicking nature at it's finest. I happen to love love love the pink, red, purple color families and when I heard "rose extreme", I really had to lay eyes on it myself to be sure... RE reads red to me. It's similar to bougainvillea which also has a slight pink undertone (depending on the leather). Both colors I love.
Then there's the red's with the orange undertones (Vermillion)... or the orange with the red undertones (Cap)... hahahah Although they are difficult to nail down, I love them all!!!!!!!!!

I’m a bit late here but here’s my input for what it’s worth :). I had these exact options available to me for the Evelyn Tpm and I chose Rose Extreme. It’s a very fun, rich bright pink. In Clemence it isn’t as red to me as some others have mentioned. Magnolia has a lavender vibe to it. If you are a pink lover, go for RE. Can’t go wrong with either but I’m more of a RE fan than Magnolia. Good luck!

I think it's a matter of perception. Chromatic colour wheels have mutable boundaries that rely on waves and not words, we perceive only the reflected colours. Hermes call RE pink (Rose means pink and extreme means extreme) so that's their view. I also see and think of it as pink. RE is a flashy, bright colour whichever way you think of it, personally I love it. Capucine's anther great colour but that one is OT.

RE reads red to me, as well. I think it will fit in nicely with my other red SLG's. You're right about the undertones. As stand-alone pieces they can appear a definite shade of red (Vermillion) or orange (Cap) but their undertones spring to life when paired with other colors. That's the tricky part if you're a fuss budget about colors, like I am..."I thought this was RED!"

I totally agree about color perception and anyone who has tried to choose paint will agree, too! Who knew there were 64,000 shades of white paint? In this case, the funny thing with H colors is how differently they express themselves on different mediums rendering the color descriptions less-than-helpful. So, despite being called Rose (Pink) Extreme, the color will look wildly different in alligator than it will look in Epsom.

Thank you so much for sharing this! I was still on the fence, but your experience has swayed me to RE, and I’m not looking back! Lol. since it’s a bright, fun color it will be perfect for the TPM.

My love affair with the Evy continues - I have two GMs now (gold and BE,) and two PMs (magnolia and vert verone, which I ADORE and purchased returning a gorgeous but too small for my frame TPM.) But then RE popped up online and wowza, it’s gorgeous too. I’m just not sure I need two pinks? I keep telling myself RE is a nice strawberry watermelon red...errrr pink lol. Your thoughts? (I also thought this would be a good color comparison for anyone looking around.)
