Debate: Patek Philippe 4 Years Waiting List :( VS Audemars Piguet

One of my close guy friends told me yesterday at dinner at he walked by Tourneau NYC 57th st. and saw one PP 7118/1200r-010 in the display case just last night. I'm not sure if he was correct and don't want to keep your hopes too high but do give it a call at Tourneau NYC. Good luck.

Hi sis, did you consider purchasing the patek phillip from a trusted reseller?
Actually to be honest after I saw your post about the pink dial AP i fell in love and visited the Dubai Mall boutique to try it on. When I was there I saw a rose gold AP with blue dial that I loved even more but I did not buy it from the boutique I bought it from a trusted reseller (also in dubai) since the price in the boutique is way overpriced.
anyways long story short. I now have the same patek that you posted but mine is with a white dial. and recently purchase the rose gold AP with blue dial. I love them both and they are both significant in my collection but to be honest the Patek is more special in my opinion.
I think you should go after what you really want and there is no difference to going through a trusted reseller, as thats what i have done.

Agree. Even top, completely hand-built watchmakers like FP Journe or Urban Jorgensen who make fewer than 1,000 watches/year don’t make you wait more than 6 months. This is pure hype or poor manufacturing practices creating a backlog. LOL.

so i contacted my SA at our local dealer to enquire about the Patek Philippe (Ref 7118/1200r-010), expecting him getting back to me with the typical answer "you have to enlist your name and wait", but was shocked ill have to wait for 4 years !! which is insane ...
so he suggested the new 2018 Audemars Piguet (Ref 67651or.zz.1261or.03), which is gorgeous as well, and honestly i was considering it previously but all RG came with dials i never liked except for this which is fully RG!!
so shall i search for the PP else where or is it the same case everywhere? or do i go for the AP?
your valued input ladies will be highly appreciated
I was waiting for the same PP as you. I waited 6 months and got offered the 7118 with white dial but defined it.
Maybe it's just me but if I have my heart set on buying a Patek, I would not substitute it with anything else.
