I've been looking at the elsa peretti DBTY necklaces and are so put off by the prices. I was thinking about doing sterling silver (prices are more reasonable), but all the knowledgeable posters here tell me to do gold or pt because the metals are more durable. I don't think I'll be getting any jewelry for a while (we just made a BIG purchase!) but I'll keep BGD in mind for the future. Thanks again megeve12 :D

BGD does White gold, and lets just say I am getting a .17ct for less than tiffany's YG .12 and I could have gotten a .14 for nearly the same price as Tiffany's .08.

I chose BGD because he does white gold, but the price difference didn't hurt either :-)
That and in those necklaces Tiffany's doesn't rate their melee. I know they are probably all great diamonds, but I'm a bit of a diamond snob and want some info on what I'm getting. That and I could see a noticable (to me anyway) difference between different diamonds in the DBTY at Tiffany's...that bothered me.

OO, thanks! Great info! I wouldn't think Tiffany would bother to grade such small diamonds. They probably end up just giving a range of color/clarity instead. I also agree on the white gold - saves a heck of a lot of money as compared to platinum. And you can choose what purity of gold too! This site is sweet. .build your own DBTY necklace! hehe :D
