I was curious and measured my 5/8 ( which is about 0.625) ctw diamond solitaire studs with a WG martini setting. They measured at 5mm. I don't know how Tiffany can get a 0.14 ct diamond to look almost as big as a 0.31 ct and still have that sparkle! And the platinum bezel is very thin, too.

Yeah. It is crazy. I actually bought some CZ studs that are 0.5tw to compare sizes and settings (martini vs. bezel), and they look very similar width wise. But I can tell that there is more diamond in the width on the martinis if that makes sense. I did notice that my earrings have a slightly thicker bezel than the larger platinum earrings. It is not as thick as the RG DBTY but is not as thin as my YG DBTY.

Yes, I know what you mean about there being more diamond in a martini setting. :)

Very interesting about the platinum bezel thickness varying with the size of the diamonds. I thought they would be the same. The SS bezels for the 0.28ctw DBTY earrings I tried on were very thick compared to the YG and Platinum.

Yes! They are not super thick like the silver ones, but I definitely noticed a difference. I am kind of wanting another pair of diamond studs. I can't decide between a bigger pair of DBTY, Victoria in small, Aria, martini from Brian Gavin, 6 prong from Brian Gavin, or something else entirely. It's such a hard choice. I finally bought the heart pendant in platinum and feel like I need some more substantial earrings to go with it.

I just read the second part. You are probably right. I'm just being overly obsessive. Lol. I posted a pic of my necklace in the "A Dreamy Reveal" thread! :panic:
