I have 2 DY bracelets, a 8mm cable in amethyst and the labyrinth single loop with diamonds and mine are both size small. Love them both and wear them very often. My wrists are a little bit bigger than yours so you may need an extra small which can be ordered in some styles. If there is a DY boutique near you, that is your best bet because you could try on the different size bracelets which DY is more likely to have in stock than other retailers. I was unable to view the bracelet you are looking at so I couldn't tell but you said 8mm so I am guessing it's a cable bracelet. It's important that your bracelet fit properly and not turn sideways on the wrist which will be uncomfortable and you won't wear it. Also, it depends on whether you want to wear it above or below the wrist bone. I've seen them worn both ways. In my opinion, getting the right size is very important with these bracelets. If there's no boutique near you, I agree with those who said to call a DY specialist either at NM, or DY. Good luck!

Extra small would be too small for me. I'm a small based on their size guide.

David Yurman Women’s Bracelets & Cuffs Size
Actual Wrist Measurements, Bracelet Size

X-Small: 4 5/8 — 5’’
Small: 5 1/8 — 5 1/2"
Medium: 5 5/8 — 6’’

And I emailed them to make sure and got the below reply...

Given your wrist measurement of 5.5", you may be in between size small and medium. Please see the size guide below for more details. The size medium may be the best fit for you as we always suggest the larger if you are unsure of the size.

They recommended medium but I think small would be fine.

EDIT: No, it's not a cable bracelet. This is the one I'm referring to ...

Yes they really should. If I remember right when I was talking to a DY expert at NM he said they could get any bracelet in a small. It took a while to get them in that way but they fit. I would call and ask the circumference someone will measure it for you.

Under the bracelet you are looking at, it says "one size," When you click on that, it says, for additional sizes, call Customer Care at, then gives the phone number.

I emailed them and they said it's 7.5 inches in length. Do you think it would bee too loose on my 5.5" wrist?

I would ask for the circumference of the small. My wrist is 5.5, and my bracelets that fit the way I like are 6.5 to 6.75. If you aren't near a DY retailer, go somewhere and try on something that is similar to the DY chain style you are looking at, take a measuring tape with you, and measure the ones that fit you best. It's hard to find size small bracelets in stores, NM, Nordstrom or a good jeweler is your best bet.

I think it would be really big. I have a very chunky ceramic and silver oval link DY in 7.5 and still have room. Something that dainty will probably slide pretty far down your hand and not fit well. Call a DY specialist and see if they can custom order you a small. I have the name of one if you want to PM me.

It only comes in one size. I don't think they can customer order this specific bracelet.

I've purchased DY bracelets from Neiman's and Saks in the past and there was just one size. I want a new bracelet from the DY website, but several sizes are available. Is there a way to figure out the size of the bracelets I already own?
My wrist is the same size as yours and I got a small! It fits well and still not too tight.

Bummer. :thinkin: The only other suggestion I would have is to get it and if you love it, have it shortened or have a jeweler put a jump ring at the proper point on the chain. If you really want to pursue it, I would call the customer service number and talk to a live body at DY and explain and see what they can do for you. But a 7.5" is going to fit big for sure on your 5.5" wrist, especially since it's a delicate bracelet.

Sent them an email. We'll see what they say.
