I can't believe I stumbled upon this thread! I was looking at this exact ring at Nordstrom tonight for my daughter's 21st b-day (Feb. 18). I decided to sleep on it but after seeing this thread I'm convinced it will be the perfect gift. Like the OP I want to get her something memorable and without sounding too corny, I feel like the combination of the rings and the diamond x symbolize hugs and kisses.

Thanks for starting this thread, I hope your daughter loves her ring!!

Your DD will LOVE it!!! What a fantastic b-day gift. And, the symbolism makes it extra special.

^^^ Yaay! I'm glad your thinking of this one:flowers:...its so beautiful..!:love:
I'm so glad I decided to get it..but keeping the secret until then will be hard to do.:smile1:

I finally got to give my daughter this ring for her 21st birthday...and she loved it!
I have a question about it though...
While its extremely beautiful, unique..and I want one too!...its turning her finger green on the underside of her finger.
I know that as soon as people hear that they assume nickel or something is in it..I did read that silver also does this.
I guess I'm wondering if others have had this issue with DY rings??
She said its just a small area underneath her finger..maybe where the metal that attaches them all together is?
It kind of bums me out a bit because it shouldn't do this..and she has never had silver react this way on her before.(Maybe her body chemisty is funky now???)
I contacted Nordstrom's and they said they haven't had any issues that they know of .

^ Was it sized in that area maybe?? I'd return it to Nordstrom and ask for a new one just to see. I've never had this problem with a DY ring (I have several) but I have had this problem with other "silver" rings.

^^ It hasn't been sized yet. When I talked to Nordstrom they said that maybe I can take it to their local jeweler to see if maybe they can coat it..but I wouldn't think you would have to do something like that.

Everybody's skin chemistry is different and will react differently to metals. My mom and I have never had any issues with DY jewelry turning our skin green. I don't know what to say except perhaps you can get an exchange and try another ring?

I agree - I think it's her body chemistry. I have this ring - but instead of the diamond X, mine has it in yellow gold. I've had no problem with my skin turning green! I'm positive it's her skin reacting with the metal alloy in the sterling silver.
