Hi guys! So after looking at it I’ve decided to get the neverfull as my first Louis Vuitton bag. However, I’m really torn between the monogram and the Damier Ebene. I’d be using the bag as an everyday school/ work bag and live in the NE. Ive of course watched so many reviews and it seems like a lot of mixed things are out there. I know the DE has had some cracking issues on the handles. Does anyone know if the new models have this problem as well or is just the older ones? If that’s been resolved I’ll probably get the DE because I don’t know the ins and outs of vachetta leather and patina and how to get it to turn the pretty honey color and not dark looking. I really want this bag to last me awhile so suggestions on how to take care of it would be great. Also any opinions on which is better would be greatly appreciated!

As a newbie, I'd like to vote for DE. It's super classy, matches everything, isn't too "loud" but still recognizable. It can be worn casually or in a "going out" setting. As far as the wear, i won't be able to help as my DE is still fairly new.

I have had both, and I have to say I prefer the Mono or DA versions because of the leather type. It’s much more comfortable. If you can get it to patina evenly, I think it will be more comfortable and durable in the long run.

I had always wanted the damier until I actually tried them on. I have the monogram because the handles feel much softer and I found the damier handles to be a bit stiff and rubbery.

I have both. I prefer the DE in wet weather; I have never found the straps to be uncomfortable. I recently got a Mon Mono and I’ve been using it heavily since.

Both are great; if you think you want to use it rain or shine I’d go with the DE first.

My de neverfull was my first and my most used bag. I’ve used it at least 75 percent of the time the last 6 years and it is still in amazing condition. It is such a roomy, stylish and carefree everyday bag, So that’s my vote.

Definitely DE! I’m lusting after the DE Neverfull MM for my next bag. The mono is gorgeous, but I think the DE will be more versatile and durable. And that beautiful red interior!

I got the DE in MM as my first LV and luxury bag in 2012. The DE holds up pretty well and still looks brand or almost new in comparison to my friend's Mono (she got hers later in 2013/14).

In terms of look, I think the DE is more classier and the design is evergreen than the Mono prints. Plus I think Mono can be quite loud at times that you wish for something demure.

My DE MM looks great except for the handles started to crack after the one time I put my laptop in it. The bag is several years old. I don't think the cracking is noticeable unless you really look for it. If you saw me passing in a mall it would still look almost perfect. I will eventually replace my handles and trim, but my SA thinks they still look good. I did mention this to the SA when looking at the GM and he left me with the impression that it still happens if you overload the bag. So, if you are going to carry heavy stuff in your bag, I would go mono. There are things you can do to keep a pretty patina. Many around here swear by patina champ or Apple Guard.
