Damaged Louis Vuitton

While I would not have problem accepting either of the bags (I thought they were really damaged before saw pictures, after seeing pictures, these are not "damages" in my standard), I would be more care about the alignment of prints & handles, real damages to leather and canvas. I do understand first time luxury buyers are more picky including myself when I bought my first bag at the store, examed it like was giving it a heart surgery, ha ha.

Expectations are extremely high in many buyers, either buying new from the store or secondhand, I had a person bought a like new bag (for 40% less from retail) from me and expecting it's untouched and in brand new condition.

Back to the topic, glad you are able to return the bags, and I do understand you want your first bag 100% perfect, hopefully you will get the next one exactly you wanted.

Hi Guys and Gals! I’m currently in a nightmare Louis Vuitton situation and I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this! Long story, so let’s begin. Two weeks ago I purchased a Speedy B 25 in an Australian boutique (which I live 3 hours away from). I was rushed in the purchase (it was quite busy) and I hadn’t purchased in a boutique so I was very nervous! When got home I realised one of the buttons/flat studs was damaged(tarnish, chips, missing coating) I emailed the SA images of the damages, called no answer and then followed up with a call on the Monday; and another two calls on Monday. I was told to send it back by post (at my cost) as it would be ‘easier than me making the trip to the boutique’and they would replace the bag, she wouldn’t be working Tuesday or Wedesnsay but to send the bag back and the bag would be looked at and Thursday a new bag sent. Call on Wedesnsay to make sure they have received the bag and the Managers assures me it has been received, viewed and approved for exchange but it won’t be processed until the SA returns on Thursday and that she will call once it has been packaged and is ready to be sent. Fast forward to Thursday, once again they don’t call and once again I do and am eventually told the new bag has been sent ‘express’ and I would be receiving it Friday. I request the tracking number and the SA brushes me off and never sends it to me. Friday arrives, NO BAG. Call and complain and request the tracking number for the third time, STILL BRUSHES ME OFF saying she will send it later. End up having to convince DHL and Auspost to release the tracking details to me and find out it wasn’t express and I won’t see it until Monday. I wasn’t impressed as I had paid $50 in shipping and insurance to have it to them the next day. This time speak to the Manager who apologises for the inconvenience and 0 communication from the SA who has been ‘cautioned’ and refunds the cost of my shipping. Today is Monday, I open the new bag and ITS DAMAGED. The coating on one handle is completely missing in parts and is in worse condition than the already terrible first bag. Call the Manager, who is of course on a day off and so I’m sitting here, burnt twice and heart broken! With no idea what to do, I’ve been saving for months and this has broken my trust in Louis Vuitton. Hoping when I can get in touch, I can just get a refund and move on!

I had a very similar experience at LV in Boston, MA.
I love LV but I really do not think the bags are well made at all and they often have manufacturing problems too. I bought a Felicie bag and got home and realized same as you that one of the hooks for the chain to attach to the bag was severely chipped. I texted the SA and got no reply. I went back to the store 1 day and a half later and I was told that since they could not be sure that I did not damage the hook myself that they could only offer me a repair which they would graciously do for free[emoji849][emoji849]
I had to wait 2 months to get “my repair bag” and no one cared. I called LV about it many times to complain and they continued to act like they were being nice to repair it for me at no charge.
The Felicie is not a very expensive bag. It is unbelievable to me that they could not just give me a new bag. I have had much better experiences at Gucci and Valentino. Sorry this has happened to you too.

Are you newer to Louis Vuitton? I would suggest finding a different boutique. From that point on I highly recommend inspecting each bag that you're interested in because if you spot these flaws to begin with then you can avoid this after sale situation. If you purchase online you can potentially run into the same issue. While I agree with the other posters on this thread that the flaws you mentioned do seem very minor (it looks like a faint residue on the handle, did you try rubbing it off?), ultimately, you have to be happy with the purchase. And it sounds like you didn't have a great experience.

I bought a LV bum bag yesterday, brought it out of the box to get ready for work tmrw only to realize that one of the stitching has already come undone. As well, the scarf I bought to tie around it had a snag in it. I'm super bummed at their quality control, as well as at the SA. He didn't check the bag with me, nor asked me to, and I'm surprised that he didn't notice when packing it.

I will post images of the first (metal damage) and second bag (leather damage) below for those who asked xo
Oh my. I don't think you'll have a good experience with LV if these pics illustrate what you consider "damage." I'm sure the best path was indeed to return, but I expect that, with a microscopic approach, you will continue to be unhappy. The products were not faulty or damaged, is the bottom line.

By the way, if you develop the pattern of serial returns they'll blacklist you.

I see it OP. You’ve got every right to be upset and to return this bag. You’re not buying second hand, this is brand new from a luxury boutique. If you bought from Chadstone, yeah the sales associate from that boutique have gotten so bad with their customer service. And yes, talking to someone online is much better. Just let them know your experience and they will make sure to inspect the bag before sending it to you.

I'd be disappointed as well, I'd take back for an exchange. I think most consumers here like to look over the items before taking them home, I'd definitely suggest that next time!
