Ladies, I am still licking my wounds from missing out on the Bridget. Boohoo!!!

In order to recuperate, I am considering buying the Daffodile Brodee from the Bay.

Just saw a lady wearing them in the CL boutique today and was she rocking em! I instantly fell in love:loveeyes:

Question is, are they TDF or gaudy? This lady had nicely tanned legs, but I am very pale and not sure if I can carry em off.

Also, does anyone know when these were sold? I think they were for the 20th Anniversary, but not sure.

The minimum bid is $2,700 where the original retail price was $2,250-ish?
Are they such a collectors' item that it is worth over the retail???

Any opinions much appreciated!
Thank you!!!

The Daff Brodee is a great collector's piece. I can picture the Brodee with a flared black knee-length dress so as to put the shoes in the center of attention.
As for if you should buy them, you should ask yourself, "Does the Brodee go with my personal style?" If not, then you probably won't get much wear out of them.
"Are the shoes worth paying nearly $3k for?" The worth of the shoes depends on the person; only you can decide if they are worth it for you. The Brodee is limited edition and produced in limited quantities. But you also have to love the design of the Brodee very much, and not just because of its rare status. However, some people would rather buy an exotic, a special order, or a strass pair instead of a shoe with bits of fabric and sequins on it for that money.
"Does the Daffodile look good on me?" You've visited the boutiques so I assume you've tried on Daffs and know whether they look good on you or not.
On a personal note, I try to avoid buying something when one of the reasons for buying it is because I was disappointed/lost out on another thing that I really wanted. But this may not bother you.
Good luck with your decision!

Thank you fumi!

I'm considering them not so much because I lost out on the Bridget, but more so because I saw this lady rock em. Mind you, I was disappointed on the Bridget where I have been able to move on. If its meant to be, I believe they will pop up some day, fingers crossed.

The Brodee was gorgeous on her. She apparently bought her's in the States. I never got to try them on because they never came to Japan. It certainly looked great on her, but not sure if I can carry it off though.

I do have a pair of regular black kid Daffs and I can carry them off fine, but dont know about the Brodee being such a busy piece. It is certainly a fun pair. I can see myself pairing it with skinny jeans, jean mini-skirts, black skinnies, and a black simple dress.

You are absolutely right! I should determine whether the shoes is worth the price or not. I guess I just wanted to find out if everyone thought it was over-priced compared to its original retail price.

Thank you for your kind input as always!

Too many shoes! I will try and behave from the next season:graucho:

Big Hug:hugs:

I saw a girl rocking these in the club and she looked great in them. While I, personally would rather spend 3gs on a pair of strassed heels, like Fumi said, it all depends on the person.

Price is fair though I wouldn't pay much more than their asking.

Thank you for the intel.
I am asking the seller if he/she would ship international before I start bidding.

I have a pair of silver Pigalili Potpurri so I feel strassed out so this pair might be it!

Boy but are they expensive!

i'm not a fan :( i would not spend that much on them either, they seem very trendy.
Definitely trendy thats for sure!

I am going a bit overboard these days with fashion because all thru my adult life, all I wore were black/navy/grey/beige suits for business. Totally missed out on experimenting with fashion in my teens and my 20s.

But your advice is definitely food for thought.

Thank you so much!!!
XOXOXO!!!

I the ones you posted on the authenticate this page that are on bonanza, just FYI that seller is a reseller and changes way too much for shoes imo. You can get these for a better deal.

Thank you annie. I was thinking her price is OTT. 1200 bucks more than original retail price ugh!

What do you mean by changes way too much by the way?
Is a reseller someone who buys off the auction and then sells em again right away???

They either buy cheap from stores when they go on sale or buy from ebay, and then mark them way up. Some even buy up popular styles for full price and then mark way up in price, that is what this one on bonanza does. Always waaayyyy over retail.

Marking them up for biz I can understand, but she over does it. 1200 dollars more than retail, OH MY!!!

Even the Ebay seller is rather expensive I think.

Thank you for always keeping an eye out for me:heart::heart::heart:

No problem, we CL gals and guys gotta stick together and get the best deals we can! I guess I can't stomach $1200 over, or when the entire stock of one shoe gets bought out from a website and then ends up on bonanza for almost double, so people who really wanted them either have to wait or find them elsewhere. I have no love for resellers, sorry.

I would second that! If you are ever looking for something, I will keep an eye out for you!

The CLs over here do not ship overseas, but I will personally pick em up and post em to you if you ever really want something here and if you would feel comfortable trusting me.

Do you think the ebayer is also a reseller? Her starting bid is 2700, BIN 3000 for a 2495 retail shoe.

Ive sent her emails asking if she wld ship overseas, but yet to respond.
