Customs Question

I am considering purchasing a bag from Luxury Shops- can anyone advise me on what to expect with customs?
Thanks in advance.

Where are you by the way? The boys behind Luxury Shop / Luxury Zurich have customers all over the world, and they may be experienced with customs of your country.

I think you should direct your question to Pete/Mario.

LZ is a member here as well. I haven't bought from them yet, but LZ owners(Pete/Mario) are extremerely super helpful and freindly. Even though I have not bought anything from them yet, they answer my questions thunder fast and give out advice of colors/ leather/size..etc...and share their high Hermes knowledge with others to help.

E mail them to ask about exactly how they would ship and insure. I am sure they will answer honestly whatever questions you have. I find them very sincere and trustworthy.

Ms Birkin! Hope you are liking your gift ;-)

If the buyer chooses insurance when purchasing an item on our site, then it is insured with our company's insurance. Nothing to do with the post office. That means if the item turns up missing, the buyer is covered for the entire purchase price, not the declared value for shipping. Hope this puts everyone's mind at ease!

OK, How spooky is this?

My DH has just surprised me with a small gift from luxury zurich and you are right on the packaging it has bee declared as having a very small value (compared to the actual cost of the goods) however he did pay to insure it, so how would that have worked if the goods had not turned up? I take it we would only have been able to claim the value stated on the package?

Thanks L-Z it is lovely and as I said in my previous comment your service was excellant. Now I just need to plant the idea in my DH's head that a lovely bag from yourselves would indeed be another lovely surprise :woohoo:

I bought a small Evelyne from Luxury-shops and they declared the full value on the package. Customs charged me about £120 (it was a while back so can't remember exact amount). If customs do open the package and it's been undervalued then the BUYER is liable for any fines etc. I'd send them an e-mail before purchasing to check what they are going to put on the package.

The package was sent quickly and the bag is gorgeous so wouldn't have a problem buying from them again but you MAY get charged customs so be aware...
