Customisable Alma

I'm back from my recce trip!

Verdict : Customisation is definitely FUN! It took about an hour of trying different combinations before I found a combo that I liked. If you enjoy this 'play' process and you like the idea of having a bag that no one else has, then this is the bag for you. (Of course, assuming you also like the Alma!)

STEP 1

So you start off by choosing your bag. There are 7 to choose from. 3 canvas Almas and 4 Epi Almas. My SA and I agreed that it makes more sense to go for an Epi Alma so that's why I only took a photo of the Epi Almas. Oops.



STEP 2

After you've chosen your bag, you choose 3 charms to customise your handle strap (not sure if this is what it's really called).





STEP 3

You choose a strap for your Alma. My goodness. I'm so bad at documenting. I took ZERO photos of the different straps!!! But I saw a guitar strap, some chain options and a couple of different coloured leather straps.

STEP 4

You choose one big charm/tag for your Alma. My favourite was this hair clip!

So I decided that I liked the green or pink Almas the best. So here are my favourite combinations!

COMBO 1 : With the chain-leather strap and a hair clip! (Ignore the 3 charms across the handle... those were not my choices... it was too bothersome to remove them from the display bags)



COMBO 2 : With the same leather-chain strap and a key bell



COMBO 3 : Same leather-chain strap but with the black luggage tag (gold mirror behind). I really loved the look of the luggage tag but the black didn't match the brown leather of the chain strap. What a pity!!!!



COMBO 4 : This was my husband's favourite combo actually! Same leather-chain strap and with some hanging charms (a bottle cap, a huge safety pin and a whistle).

I didn't end up buying an Alma that night. I just couldn't find the perfect combo! I loved the hair clip combo but I thought there was just too much chain action going on LOL. I also loved the black luggage tag but the black didn't match the brown leather of the strap. If I had found my perfect combo, I would have gotten the green Alma because this mini Alma is such a good size (for me at least). I find the nano way too small and the BB too big! This is my Goldilocks size! And the length of the chain strap is just PERFECT.

So I decided to order a P9 instead. LOLOLOL! (Yes, that escalated...)

Thanks for sharing your experience with the customisable alma. Looks like you had a fabulous time trying and choosing different combos. I definitely agree with you that the epis looked so much better than the monos and the pop of colour is gorgeous. Especially that green and pink. And the bag after attaching everything, charms, chain and all can seem a bit too busy like you said as well. I’m with you on that one. If they made it a bit more simple i think it would be better. But the mini alma size is perfect. Not too small like the nano and not too big like the bb. And it has feet too right? I hope they end up releasing that size maybe without all the customisation and just like the standard alma with leather strap, lock and clochette. I would buy it straight away. And in those epi colours would be Devine.

Anyway, glad you had a great time and congrats on your p9 coming. What colour did you choose?

Yeah, it was SUPER fun! Good question about the feet! GRRR... I didn't check! I don't remember seeing feet though. Yeah, I agree with you! I hope they release this size too, solo, no bells & whistles. I'll buy it with you! And thanks! I ordered a P9 from the FW collection (Nigo x Pharrell) so my CA said it'll arrive some time in August? I had a hard time choosing between the sencha, gold and indigo. They're all SO good. Finally decided on the gold... such a good neutral!

Yeah... that GREEN. Oh my. I loved it! It's so emerald and so intense! And yeah... came in for an Alma, leaving with a P9. Whut?! I swear, I didn't see that coming. LOL.

Yeah, it's a GREAT size! And LOL! Glad you could see the black Alma. Should we expect a reveal any time soon?

I really like what I’m seeing, the epi leather looks great and yeah, I love the pink and the green bags. The chain step looks substantial too. The hair clip bag charm is really cute, much nicer than I anticipated. That said, I do tend to like the busy look and lots of hardware.
If only the bag wasn’t quite so expensive! Sadly, I’m now spent up on Murakami so that’s me out for the rest of the year 😬
The P9 sounds delightful and gold is a great neutral, as you say. Can’t wait to see photos when it arrives.

Awwww it's so cute!!! And I love that you have a Speedy from each collection! What a SET to have! And the nanos are just too cute! How lucky are you to get both the white and black MC NS!!! Great choices.

I was in store yesterday to place DEPWOs for 3 cherry items (pls keep your fingers crossed for me) and my CA said that the customisable Speedy 18s will be coming soon. He didn't say when but oh my... I have such a soft spot for Speedys. I could resist these customisable Almas... not sure if I could do the same when the customisable Speedys arrive!
