I've seen several threads discuss certain custom bag makers and love discovering new (or new to me) creators that truly create a bespoke design process for their customers. Who are some of your custom/bespoke favorites? I thought it might be helpful to have this discussion all in one place so we all can discover new (to us) designers!

Some designers I've seen mention by TPF-ers include:
Peter Nitz Website//Thread
Duret Paris Website//Thread
Marco Massaccesi Website//Thread
Jetalla' Aneiu' Website

Some other's I've recently discovered I would love to hear more about if anyone has worked with them:
Libby Cap Website (I love Libby's handpainted small leather goods)
Mila Jito Website (that Mirus bag with MHarness is droolworthy!)

Pickett, London

Nothing but fabulous things to say about Duret who we met in Paris. He is a leather artist and an extreme perfectionist. If you deal with him, it turns out best to go with his vision. everything is hand stitched, each stitch is perfect. He also has an Aladdin’s cave of exotic skin and beautiful box leather. will post pics later. Also calling @Tasha1
forgot to add. He creates his own patterns (In part to the scale of the individual hide, and also to showcase a particular facet. His hardware is also machined to his specifications. I would guess it’s in the nebulous land between between MtM and Full Bespoke, in the sense that there aren’t a set menu of choices. If he consents to do your bag, it’s really only yours. He and I were in discussions to do a bag for which he was going to come up with a new design for the bag and hw, but I was uncertain about the hide he wanted to use, so the future is unclear. If I don’t proceed, it’s due to my lack of vision, not his immense talent. @LolaWhisp , my Buffalo Dalmatian bag is my most finely crafted bag of all time.

I’ve seen your posts. Your Buffalo Dalmatian is insanely beautiful. I’m debating one of my own when I’m in Paris next month. It’s so hard when there are such amazing designers and choices out there!

Might have to differentiate Bespoke from Made To Order, since normally with bespoke the model itself would be customized for the owner (whereas Launer simply offers the choice among existing styles). For a British company, I'm a bit surprised that they use the term bespoke for such a creation.

ITA

Most so-called 'bespoke' are really more MTO (putting together from a range of pre-set options) rather than M2M of an existing model (changing length of strap(s), depth of gusset etc) or bespoke working with someone to completely design/re-design.

The only way someone could do a full bespoke option is with a handmade bag: the pattern has to be worked out and created and hand-sewn. These are usually better suited to soft bags and hobos. Any machine within in the process will be designed with pre-set co-ords and with a structured bag what you may think you want will not be practical at all in the final outcome. The easiest way of creating a bespoke bag is to have one already and ask them to remake, unfortunately/fortunately most companies wouldn't do that as it infringes copyright of the original design.

Duret’S Aladdin’s cave of exotic and older skins, many, if not all, top quality from the premier brand who owns its tannery
pics 1 and 3 are gorgeous older box leather hides, no longer available today. Eighth pic are the three Buffalo Dalmatian hides he brought in, so we could select the one that was most textured and patterned for my bag.
