The All in BB is really versatile as a small cross body. The strap can be adjusted to a cross body or shoulder length by attaching a separate piece of the strap or that piece can be removed and you could shorten for hand carry. The bag can be closed in two directions to give it different looks.I think it is more versatile than the neo noe, but the neo noe and speedy 30 will definitely fit more!

Bizarrely all of the black empriente models I was looking at have gone to “not available” on the uk website after being available for ages just as I’ve got ready to order - speedy soft, speedy 25 speedy 20 boulogne etc! What is that about!!
Yikes! We still have them in the US. Maybe your website is doing a refresh and they will pop up soon. These are classics, they shouldn't disappear. Good luck to you!
My hubby surprised me with the black empriente soft speedy 30 for my birthday a couple of weeks ago. I don’t wear it crossbody but have worn it on my shoulder, it’s very comfy but I mainly wear it on my arm. I can’t tell you how much I love this bag!!!! This is my first empriente piece and with it being a surprise it’s extra special to me. 
I am 5’ and can wear the soft speedy 30 crossbody. It’s squishy so doesn’t feel bulky at all. I don’t use a bag insert so it has slouch. I like that it can be casual elegant but dressed up if needed. Highly recommend!!
I think you/ your husband made a good choice in the end. The speedy always gets my vote and in black empreinte, it's so pretty and versatile! Enjoy it in great health!!!
