Cross body- your opinion

Hello!
The bags I get the most use out of tend to be grab and go and for me a cross body is one of my most used styles, but I also like a versatile bag! Does anyone have these bags (especially if you have a couple of them) and can give me your opinion as to which seems most versatile? I am leaning towards a black empriente for practical reasons and because I have more canvas.

Does it have to be a speedy 30? How about the black empreinte speedy 25 or 20 (if you carry less). Because the 30 crossbody is VERY bulky and looks funny.

The speedy 20 is perfect as a crossbody, and very feminine. 20 strap has the gold links, very pretty. It comes in navy too btw.

The 25 is PERFECT as a handheld, and of course occasional cross-body, but already a little bulkier crossbody. But obviously it fits more. Since I just bought the Murakami superflat speedy 20, I would like a different size this time. And black leather is so lux. I will be traveling in May, so I'd like to get it tax-free.

PS: If you don't already own a Boulogne. This bag is not too big, not too small, and works wonders as a shoulder as well as crossbody bag. It doesn't look like much but is beautiful on.

Anyhow, it's time for you to go try them all at your local store.

I have Speedy 30s and the NeoNoe. I like both crossbody, but prefer the Speedy because it has more space.
I actually like the Speedy 30 crossbody and don‘t think it is too bulky and I am only 5“2’ and 52 kg. Actually I also like the 35 on me, just tested it in store as this is my next wish bag.

I need my bags as work bags so they need to fit a proper amount of stuff otherwise they are useless to me. The Speedy 25 (I just bought the MC one) is basically to small for me and I can only use it for leisure, but I don‘t go out that much.
So it depends on what you want to use it for and if you prefer certain sizes.

The NeoNoe is similar bulky as the Speedy, very easy to get in and out and fits a lot, but less than the Speedy as well as different things because of the compartments. You also have to be ok with open bags (I am, but many are not), but it stands very stable due to the broad base, so it won‘t fall to the side easily. The adjustable strap it came with was to long for me crossbody (shoulder is ok on the short setting). So I use my Pochette Metis strap for that purpose.

I attached a couple of pics of me wearing the black multicolour Speedy Soft 30 crossbody. I’m using the strap off my Keepall 25 as this one only came with the rounded leather shoulder strap. I don’t think it looks weird on me crossbody, but I am plus size so tend to have the opposite problem to a lot of posters here - “huge” bags look proportional on me, while tiny ones look awkwardly like toys.

Anyway - it’s not the best comparison for you because the MC version isn’t actually “soft” at all. But before ordering it I tried a regular canvas Speedy Soft 30 in store and it was much squishier. I really liked how you could squish it down under your arm in shoulder carry mode, and I imagined it molded to the body as crossbody. Assuming the empreinte version is similar to that, I’d say it isn’t too bulky for crossbody. It’s also good if you’re heading out with a decent number of daily essentials, but envisage picking some other stuff up along the way. But the other options you’ve picked out are smaller, so if you don’t need that much space, maybe look at a 25.

Again I have a NeoNoé MM in canvas, not empreinte. I love it but it feels like the bulkiest bag in my whole (LV and non-LV collection). With the large base I’m not sure an empreinte version would feel any more streamlined. Plus consider the open top if you live somewhere known for petty theft.

I saw the Speedy Soft 30 in black leather at the store and it is gorgeous. I’m 5’7 and I liked the convenience of wearing it crossbody and I didn’t feel it looked too bulky because of the “mushiness” though it would depend how much you carry in it. Personally, I think I’d primarily hand carry it. This bag is on my list but I need to recover from the Murakami drops first 😐

So for the Boulogne cross body - I assume you attach the chain to the strap to turn it into one long strap and this works? Would it be long enough for someone 5'7" ?
I like the new Quartz colour.

Yes love these speedys. Had not thought about the boulogne, for some reason I thought I was shoulder only but I actually love the look and size of this and the style with the zip etc. that’s the only thing I do wonder whether I’d like less with the all in and neo now with them being more open top, so maybe that narrows me to speedy or boulogne.

I would choose speedy 20 or 30 depending how much you carry or both for different purposes. isn’t Speedy 30 Soft in Emp leather supposed to be less bulky never seen it IRL but I would love a Speedy 25 Soft in Emp leather

You won't have all these bags in the specs you want them. But go in and say you want to try on the 20/ 25/ 30 in any canvas, leather, color. I'm sure every store will have 20/25/30 sizes. So you at least know how it looks on you. And of course the Boulogne while you're at it. Just say any color, any combo is fine. Get a feel first. Then maybe order online once you've decided.
