Bumping up this thread for the Tokyo edition of Loewe Crafted World (I think the mods can change the thread title rather than to start another thread since this will be a pretty niche one).

Had the good fortune to be included in the preview of the 2025 Loewe Crafted World exhibition in Tokyo, something we immediately decided was a must-go when the event was announced, especially because JWA was leaving the maison (there’s a chance the exhibition will travel further to other cities but I’m not sure if the brand would continue to celebrate his legacy when the new team is being installed).

Back from the preview earlier today and the exhibition is a tremendous one for anyone who’s a fan of the brand. Photos don’t do the exhibition justice and the level of care and thought put into the curation and presentation is quite simply the most impressive luxury brand exhibition I’ve ever been to.

Too tired to share pics now but will try to do so over the weekend! Also very glad that I managed to secure the last Loewe toolbox they had on sale at the exhibition gift shop, which is something we will treasure of the brand for a long time. Already thinking of how to personalise and use it as a display piece when we are back!

Thank you @despair for sharing your experience and the photos, what a unique collection. I'm hoping they will bring it back to Europe, surely Spain at least deserves a last hoorah. Fingers crossed.

Any other tips for what is worth it in the gift shop? My husband might be able to pass by as he'll be on a business trip in Tokyo.....

I forgot to take pictures in the gift shop because I was so focused on securing the toolbox haha. Asking my partner for pics now!

But yes similar to the Shanghai exhibition there are exclusives at the Tokyo:
- pink felt hammock charm (literally a felted hammock shape)
- sakura leather key ring charm (this one is a gorgeous piece and very worthy of purchase)
- baby pink mini hammock
- dusty pink compact hammock (this is a really lovely color!)
- maroon (ish) small hammock
- maroon XL suede hammock - this one is surprising because I thought Loewe had discontinued the size for quite some time. I would have pulled the trigger but I already have the green one and it’s not the easiest to use or store.

They also have the exhibition tee but I don’t think it’s that great and at 42,900 yen it’s not exactly chump change. The notebooks may be worth it for people who collect stationery, these are the same size as the ones given out during the Ghibli collabs and are priced at 5,500 yen each. These all bear the toolbox poster designs that most of you would be familiar with.

Also the purchase quantum to receive a free canvas tote is very high. Unlike the 800rmb purchase requirement in Shanghai, in Tokyo it’s a minimum of 400,000 yen per tote bag. There seems to be two designs only during the preview, but IIRC Shanghai had five rotating designs for the canvas totes.

Ohhh thank you for so much detailed info and the pic! I never got into the hammock style so likely to pass on those although the pink one at the front of the photo is really pretty. I do like and use stationary so that is an easy one to ask him to bring, plus the Sakura charm has to join my small but growing family of charms, too cute.

So wonderful you were able to get the toolbox btw that is an amazing piece and I love the idea of it being practical in your home :)

What else did you get from the gift shop? 😍

Got the sakura charm, a small toolbox and the towels - I knew I needed the dodo but seeing the Ken Price and the Brainard being that very Asian rag fabric I love the whole set.

The store also had the candles, the mushroom door stopper, the rocks with the leather twined around them (must be big sellers lol), the retrospective book (came in a ridiculous cardboard briefcase to keep it pristine), a lot of the felt charms from Suna and regular animals, any of the beaded charms like the leaf cutter ant and the radish, someone was being shown a yellow elephant leather coin purse and various black or tan bags.

I wanted to ask a friend to grab me a tote bag and was hoping that 400,000 yen amount was a typo 🙈 thanks so much for sharing your experience and the gift shop goodies!

Does anyone know if the capybara charm is available for purchase? And how much the mini felt hammock charm is?
