I wear multiple studs on both ears & can report zero problems ... however, having previously had a pup chew a diamond stud loose, I am fanatical about heavy duty backs. If the studs are an important enough pair, I use the ones that come with new piercings.
I prefer screwback or locked backs for all diamond earring, Covid or no covid.

@meowkittycat, thank you for all that you and your colleagues are doing during this crisis.

I've been wearing huggies. They feel much more secure. And I'm obsessively careful about avoiding my earrings when putting on/taking off my masks. I'm sorry you had such a scare, sdkitty, and I'm glad you found your diamond.
thanks
I have a habit of checking my studs once in awhile to make sure the backs are on securely. Never gave a thought to the mask being a problem. Thankful I found it.

I have short hair and when putting on and taking off my mask, I will pull on the loops such that it has more than enough allowance to clear my ears. This is easier to do with short hair, I think
