So I have been looking at rings for about 3 months now and even though she says "It doesn't matter, I would be happy with any ring you get me" I have decided that Im going with a Tiffany Round Brilliant with Channel Set.

I have been down to the store a couple times and have seen a few examples and been emailing back and forth with the guy that assisted me when I was there but I would like to get some "real-life" input from those who have this ring. Pros, Cons, Love, Hate, etc...

There is a big divide on here about Tiffany. I am in the 'why spend the money if she doesn't explicitly want Tiffany when you can get bigger and possibly better elsewhere?'

If you can afford it and know she will adore it because it's tiffany, get it. If not, several of us can point you elsewhere.

I agree with Ame. There is a big divide on this website. I have a Tiffany classic, and I love it! If she loves Tiffany, and you can afford it, then buy it! If you want a bigger stone for your money, then there are plenty of places that would be happy to assist you.

I was really hoping to get some input on those who have this ring. Not really interested in getting into the whole "is Tiffany worth it..." debate.

Well, I can tell you about my experience with the classic. I absolutely love my ring. I get compliments all of the time on it. I tried on the channel set, and I liked it a lot, but the classic was for me. (My fiance thought the channel set was too sparkly- words I never heard a woman on tpf utter-lol) What size center stone were you looking to get?

The ones I received in the last email are in the .5 to .7 ct range in vs1 G. Her ring size is a 6. She liked the channel site and I thought it looked really nice next to a matching band. She doesnt like having having a large gap between the ring and the band and in this size they matched up perfectly.

Thanks for your input too.

As I remember it compared to the classic, the setting for the center stone seemed higher than the classic. Does she like high set rings?

Yah, but not too high. I think the height of the channel set was just enough that the band would snug right up to it. She really liked the look of the Three Circlet but the fact that she didnt like the way it looked next to a band and it was not available in larger stones changed her mind on that one.

I have a classic Tiffany solitaire w/knife edge with a channel set Tiffany ring as my wedding band. I LOVE it. Its sparkely, seems to go w/everything I wear, and not too matchy-matchy. I decided to get the channel set ring w/the diamonds 1/2 way around so that it would be easier to re-size later if needed. The band of diamonds under the solitaire really adds something to the overall look. It is also very comfortable to wear. My ring is about 1.1 ct. I would only suggest that maybe she picks out the channel set band that she likes best with the solitaire since for me I didn't want too small or too big and overpowering. Really the chanel set wasn't that much more than other places anyways.

Does she plan to wear two bands with the ring or one?

The knife edge sounds nice but I dont think I saw any of those. Mostly because she never asked to try on a solitaire ring. I bet that does look really nice next to the channel set band too.

I have the same ring as LeeMiller (solitaire with knife set) and I also have a Tiffany celebration ring which is channel set diamonds (pretty sure it's the same thing as the wedding band) that I use to stack sometimes and I love it as well. I would second the suggestion of asking her to try out different channel set bands with the solitaire.
