Considering a pavé clou bracelet vs. a Daytona

Hi friends. Longtime member here - man in 30s with glamorous taste. I have a yellow gold full size pave Love bracelet and am thinking of adding a yellow gold full size pave Clou to mix to celebrate an accomplishment. This would be something of an extravagance for me although it isn't irresponsible - just could be better invested long-term. I am considering the bracelet against a yellow gold Daytona. I do not have a photo of me with the Clou bracelet yet. A few questions for any of you who have this set up or helpful advice:

1. How comfortable is the Clou? Is it going to dig into my wrist if I'm exercising? Obviously can take it off but would like something I can wear most of the time.

2. Is this a level of flash that maybe exceeds what is appropriate? I also wear a Rolex Day Date in yellow gold and frequently my pavé panthere ring, plus my yellow gold Love pave ring every day.

3. Is the Clou truly the best thing to stack with the pavé love?

4. Should I get the Daytona instead? It's about 10K less.

Thanks for your help, friends.

I’d get the Daytona. JUC is a beautiful piece but it really isn’t the most comfortable for 24-7 wear. The nail digs into my wrist if I sleep with it on. It’s not incredibly painful but it’s uncomfortable enough that I take it off before I sleep. You can’t go wrong either way. Goodluck!

Sounds like a variety of opinions here. Does anyone have this combo and want to show photos and let me know what you think? Thanks a lot!

@pinksandblues I like how you think, but I do not love that piece unless it's in pavé

I could also buy myself nothing!

I have both the plain JUC and a stainless Daytona. I’ve been wearing the JUC for almost 8 years non stop and I don’t find it uncomfortable but it’s not tight - maybe the fit has to do with the comfort? But I always feel like a watch is great to commemorate an achievement and the Daytona is gorgeous. As another poster said - you can’t go wrong with either. I would just check if you find the Daytona easy to read, and if the weight is ok.

First, Cartier doesn't seem to offer a full pave Juste un Clou bracelet.

I've got the half pave in white gold in the relatively new size Medium and find it extremely comfortable. It makes a statement by itself or can be paired. Here I've paired it with my Tiffany white gold Baguette Lock bracelet. I can't comment on how it would be to wear the JUC 24/7 because I take my jewelry off each evening.

For every day, I only wear one of these bracelets at a time and wear long sleeves so I can slip it under the cuff. You might want to try the Medium JUC in either all yellow gold or with only the pave nail head and tip.

This is a tough call. I really like the watch on you, but you already have a statement Rolex. That said, I don’t think you can go wrong with either one!

I have the regular JUC no diamonds and I find it extremely comfortable (I’ve been wearing it 24/7 since getting it a few months ago). The nail head never digs into me. It’s loose fit though, so I suspect that may be why.

Okay, a little more about my life and collection, if it helps:

1. I wear the Day-Date 41 Rolex almost daily and love it. I sometimes when meeting a client or going out and want to be subtle will wear my more understated rose gold 42mm Ballon Bleu with chocolate face.

2. I wear my Love bracelet daily, but I usually take it off at night.

3. I wear my Love ring daily. I usually wear my panther pavé ring daily on the same hand as the Love bracelet.

4. I've never owned a sport watch and have no specific utility for it, but I do appreciate the Daytona as a classic. I'm not super afraid of buying it because while it probably won't appreciate for a while, if I try to get out of it, I'll probably get 85-90% of my money back pretty easily. So it's relatively liquid.

5. The JUC pavé I have tried on before, but not in a long time, and not when I really seriously had the money to do it. A friend was over last night and I tried on his JUC which is my size and it wasn't overly tight. i don't have an overly bony wrist bone, so I'm not super worried about discomfort, but wanted to know if there was a general sense among the group as to whether or not it's comfortable. Sounds like YMMV. It's a great piece and I would certainly take it off at night, and likely if I was going to do something where it became uncomfortable like the gym. I had a JUC pavé ring for a year and sold it b/c it was somewhat uncomfortable on the finger and also the rose gold ring washed out on my fingers. Had I special ordered in YG, would likely have kept.

6. Love has a special meaning to me - I bought my first Love bracelet (no longer have) at 19 and it was an accomplishment. I have always loved the collection. The JUC impresses me only in its pavé form. But I like sparkle.

Thanks for playing style consultant/therapist with me!

I read somewhere that the pave JUC flew off a professional tennis player’s wrist. Maybe it is in the Celebrities thread here in Purseforum. They had to stop and search for it. It is not the old version of JUC with the secure lock. But then again, Cartier always had the button for the pave JUC which the current regular JUCs have.

The regular pave JUC is half covered with pave. If you want fully covered, you may consider the medium. Also the regular pave JUC is a lot thinner than your classic pave love. I think the medium JUC would make it more balance. People usually pair the regular pave JUC with the thin pave or a regular love. But since you tried your friend’s, you should have a good sense of whether or not you like the pairing.

Watches. Seems like nowadays, even the richest of people love their Apple watch and Oura rings over a Daytona. It’s really a personal preference. I’ve seen accounts that used their Daytonas on the regular back when it was really popular, only to switch and stay on an Apple Watch.
